I just think its like, if you dislike her content why would you feel the need to publicly share that. Unless you genuinely feel that she's making a negative impact or hurting people and by speaking out against her you are going to help, sharing discourse about why you personally dislike her is kind of meaningless. I still enjoyed this ep, and I think generally the guys have very solid and sensible takes on most important things. I think they do here too, but also I find that talking about people like Adin Ross and Andrew Tate the way the do - in a kind've trivial or flippant way - highlights that they'll never be effected by it. I get as angry as Aiden does about this stuff because every person they influence in a sexist or homophobic way could grow up to have serious repercussions on my life, and the way anyone who isn't a straight man lives. I don't necessarily disagree with a lot of what they're saying, but I found that section kinda hard to watch knowing that there could and will be real life implications of people with platforms spreading misinformation and hate. I'm not super sure why I feel the need to comment this, but maybe it would help everyone a little bit if we remember where we stand as individuals when we give public, or I guess any, opinions. I think it's especially relevant with the recent onslaught of sexism and sexual harassment/assault that's been brought to light in the streaming community, and the horrible 'backlash' many of the women who've spoken up have received. Also, because this is the internet I feel like it's important to say that I'm not accusing anyone of sexism or anything bad, and I don't think the discussion was at all overtly bad/damaging. I can surmise from past eps that they are very supportive of equal rights and generally the right thing in most situations. I guess I'm just say I've never felt more like I was watching 4 white guys on a podcast then I did just then.

As a woman I want to respond to Ludwigs take that the kids will "grow up and be fine." I appreciate the optimism but I think it is ill placed especially in a time when women are facing increased social, political, and economic constraints. If we are to believe that the kids will be fine, then I have to ask what about in the meantime? As another commenter Evan Hamilton said, Andrew Tate is already having real world impacts on how young men behave in school, and therefore how they behave towards women. Saying that they will grow up to be fine leaves young women to deal with the negative consequences. Casual sexism and misogyny has always been rampant online and especially in gamer/streamer spaces. It has ramped up in recent years due to the push back and progress that has been occurring. If we want positive change for women working and participating in these spheres, this cannot continue to slide. Misogynists like Tate and Ross need to be given hard lines: educate and change yourself or be blacklisted from the industry. It is beyond optimistic to think that this is achievable from an industry perspective, but from an individual streamer perspective I think its not that difficult to refuse to work/collaborate with somebody who has made the same mistakes over and over again. I understand this is a long and unprovoked response but again as a woman this kind of normalization is not simply a nuisance, its scary and outright dangerous.

His inner circle needs to stop letting him go on things, and people need to stop taking advantage and bringing him to interviews when he is clearly not well. The last thing ill say, is if a mentally ill homeless person was spouting the exact same things, you would probably be like "wow that guy is extremely ill and messed up" you wouldn't have the reaction like we are with Kanye, but because he has more of a platform, we somehow think he is in more control of himself than a mentally ill homeless person. But avoiding something that's decades old that you've enjoyed because the creator lost their mind more less is in no way a validation of their behavior or supporting that person. The same thing happened to millions of people with Michael Jackson, for example. You can both love thriller and be disgusted by the person he became. By liking thriller, you are neither validating or supporting that person's current actions. They can be mutually exclusive. Like I said, I personally draw the line at now that we know the type of person JK is I will no longer support any works that she produces or creates. While the person is greatly diminished in my eyes and no longer worth supporting. Previous works that are already a part of our culture and society and our lives are very different than current or upcoming projects. It's very weird to me to think I should retroactively hate/dislike something. Her actions don't diminish the quality of previously existing works. But does make it so i feel that regardless of the quality of her future works I will not partake. And for example while she does own the IP of Harry Potter she is not a part of the hogwarts legacy team at all. She had no oversight besides signing a paper saying it's ok to use the IP. So by refusing to play the game, im hurting a perfectly good and dedicated team of game developers who are pasioante about a project while having near 0 impact on JK. There are people who got the inspiration to pursue their goals from that IP. Maybe to be a writer or a director for example. And your perspective of retroactive dislike invalidates those people as well. There degree, there ambitions, pissible deacdws of their lives, those are tainted now with that logic. What I do, however, is no longer offer support for future endeavors that people like JK are responsible for. JK Rowling's transphobic influence has been felt in my real life in my community where an anti-trans rally was held where JK Rowling was cited. It's not just her influence on UK politics, it's being spread everywhere. The video game also has strong antisemitism that people have talked more in depth about. as a top level sm64 runner i think it's safe to say armada is a pretty damn high level runner although he's about to hit a giant wall which will require him to basically relearn all movement to improve his times so it's hard to say if he could have a record in the span of 2 years

i think ludwig specifically is in an interesting position for the hogwarts legacy shit because ive seen a notable amount of trans ppl attributing his allyship to them getting into his content in the first place. so for him more than most other streamers it'd feel like a betrayal to promote the game [cringe incoming] personally as a trans guy, i got into ludwig's content at a time where i thought every internet space id participate in/creator id like watching in the domain of my interests would be at best vaguely uncomfortable with trans people. so finding ludwig's content and enjoying it and then seeing him explicitly be pro trans was very surprising and touching and sort of gave me hope and all that cringe shit. which isn't to say that's the sole reason i got into his content, i just genuinely enjoy his streams (besides tiktok time please god make it stop) transphobia is the first thing my brain goes to now when i hear anything about harry potter, even having grown up on the books. its just entirely inseparable and unenjoyable. so i would feel pretty fuckin bad if ludwig promoted hogwarts legacy. the difference in it being sponsored seems arbitrary if ur just doing the shit theyd pay u to do anyway minus ad reads, but idfk how marketing works but ultimately playing a video game is trivial in the grand scale of things and it seems unfair to hold ludwig to a higher standard -- i wouldnt feel as bad if i see moist critikal playing it for example, even though im a fan. and trans ppl make up a tiny percentage of ludwigs audience, most people probably wont give a shit sorry for being a redditor this is the longest comment ive written in years but i felt compelled lol. alright man 👍
