The visa shit sucks. Because on one side I get that it'd probably be bad if people could get paid while on tourist visas. That opens the door to a lot of really bad schemes that I'm sure companies would pull, but the implementation seems like it constantly catches innocent people in the crossfires.

I think it has entirely to do with Nintendo. When your game CAN'T be played at a fighting game expo, it causes a pretty big rift between you and the people who can. Not in a negative way, but in a "If I'm going to do this, I have to do this on my own" sort of way.

I do not watch fighting games and I rarely watch smash gameplay. FGC Ludwig is not nearly as cool as smash Ludwig. There's so much more glory in playing a game that the developers don't want you to play.

I think the difference is that slime doesn't stream to produce content or do it as his job, he's just doing it for fun. He criticizes people who do this as their job. Your last point is valid though, but it has to do more with the effort slime wants out of a streamer personally, rather than what makes money. Even though react content makes money, he would just rather watch higher quality content, which is valid imo.

As a fan of slimes streams, I don’t understand the hate thrown at reacting. I understand it’s derivative and it’s not actively producing new materials, but neither is screaming the same line for the fourth round in a game of Valorant… Like he’s definitely creating “more” but it’s certainly nothing of substance. Yeah, the american visa stuff is so shitty. They spend so much time and money failing to catch people, and instead spend most of it harassing and blocking innocent people. I almost fell victim to that too 14 years ago when I was visiting my e-girlfriend in Cali (I'm from England)
