I'm waaaay fucking late here, but just so ya'll know, "Breaking in a dirtbike" is a very real thing. Essentially, brand new engines and transmissions leave nearly microscopic shavings in the oil as they work against the other components. They wear into one another so that they all fit as perfectly together as they can. The process usually involves taking the bike through two or three heat cycles (getting to optimal riding temperature, and then shutting the bike off and letting it cool to air temperature) while remaining in neutral, changing the oil, and then running the bike in low rpm ranges for about an hour, before changing the oil once more. After that, the bike is ready to ride. P.S. The dudes early in the film who were like, "Is she actually gonna ride with us?" Were actually huge motocross riders. One of them was even a young Travis Pastrana, who is the face of Nitro Circus, and one of the most badass powersports athletes of all time.

If you get off track, you aren’t disqualified you just gotta get started and going again but sometimes they can do like point reductions or stuff like that
