With debate bro, I think it's possible to just bypass the debate entirely and just say "you are making me not want to talk to you anymore." They will 100% be defensive and respond with some argument about "What's wrong with just asking you to defend your position?" or "So you're admitting you're wrong?" etc. But if you just totally ignore their argument and say "Look, I don't care if you're right; when you talk like this you're not fun to be around and no one is having a good time" I think if you say that really directly once or twice they will get the memo

With the debate bro, try and get them to say why they believe something in 1 sentence. If they can't its cause they are bogged down with stuff they have consumed but nothing that they have critically thought of themselves.

Thanks guys for the solid advice guys. Its honestly a bit scary how accurate you can pinpoint his behaviour from my explanation. I will attempt to not engage with him in the future and see how it pans out. I had a very ridicolous argument about the "vietnam song" where i tried to get some progress and it had no impact so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and im guessing majority of those who will read this will hear fortunate son when reading it. but i was asked for sources to prove that it was the vietnam song even though one of my friends who only heard the term "vietnam song" started humming it.
