Read the commends before watching this and was mentally preparing myself for a massacre from slime, but wtf y'all are blowing this way out of proportion. Like yes Slime may have an abrasive personality but this situation wasn't a big deal, he even described right after that he appreciated when Tora was more genuine. And Tora did mention a few dead parent jokes which are pretty risky considering he doesn't know them well, even though it went over fine. I think the interaction was fine, it was clear he was a bit anxious being on the call so it was gonna be slightly awkward anyways (not a big deal, I'd be anxious as fuck as well) but I don't think anyone was overly harsh or cringe.

I do think that slime was more than ok to set boundaries with him but he could’ve done it significantly less abrasive. To me it feels like slime is just the “unpleaseable father” in the group in the sense that no matter what actions you take in the dialogue tree you will all end up in the same place.

Ready checks are an essential thing! My go to is one I learned backpacking. I say “is anybody not ready” if everybody is used to it you only get a response if somebody isn’t ready and then it’s easier to check with them how long they need. I just find it less overwhelming than something like 10 people all saying hello.
