seeing the comments before the episode i thought tora was going to say some heinously out of pocket shit, but just saying he regrets being on the pod doesnt seem that bad and i dont think it neccisarily warranted the reaction from slime or the comments. i think usually like slime disliking people for trying to hard in social situations is warranted but here i think it was moreso out of pocket from slime and just makes it awkward for him probably making him actually regret it. besides that one kinda awkward moment, i loved this episode and i definitely think joshman is a nice addition to the podcast and i like how well he meshes with everyone making his eps not have the same weight around them that normal guest eps do and feels more casual. id def love to see a side ep with him

Yeah but Slime isn't a teacher and Tora wasn't a student, in this context Slime is just a host on the podcast this person likes. Making jokes at the expense of someone you don't know personally isn't cool, but as the person with more power in this dynamic, Slime probably shouldn't have dug into them like that, especially on a public forum like this. I don't think either party was necessarily in the right, like yeah it was a bit wrong of Tora to make jokes at the expense of people they didn't know, but it was more wrong of Slime to make fun of this person who is significantly younger than him and has less experience with the creator space in general. It seems that Tora just wanted to fit in with the creators they enjoy and that doesn't seem like that much of a crime to me, maybe it wasn't the best way to do it but it didn't merit being purposely alienated from these people they enjoy listening to.

Now if you really want to be funny? You can't just roast them and expect good reactions, you make yourself the butt of the joke or you joke about someone far off the group. Cause deep down, even if Nick and Aiden seemed chill about it (Josh was skipping cutscene form what I could tell lmao), you'll always be remembered as that weirdo fan that blasted them to fit in, imagine being the guy that got polite laughs when you want to be genuinely funny and "cool", brother I would rather get tortured by the local cartel for stealing avocados.

I'll even give you some pointers, just be nice and chill when meeting your content creators, no joking around right off the bat. Just like how you would meet a relative you've heard a lot about for the first time, be polite and cool. Pretty simple.

I went off to someone in these comments before, but I think that Tora kid was out of his dept and Slime told him off correctly. Imagine you are with your friend group and a stranger comes up to the group and tries to make fun of you and your friends to fit in, that's the most highschool shit he could do and as a grown as man myself, I wouldn't take it. No shot, Slime was disciplining the kid like a teacher would when a student is being annoying, no matter how comfortable you think you are with your content creators, you can't literally forget this is the first meeting between you and them, trying to rip into them when their sense of humor is built on trust with each other is just a bad call. I am Slime-pilled in that moment, he is in the right for standing his ground and setting that boundary. Just because we support the patreon doesn't mean we really know these people or can joke around like with our own friend group.
