Ludwig Second Channel Ad Script and Storyboard
🕑 Added 2021-11-03 05:27:19 +0000 UTCWe thought of this one on a ride back from getting coffee and it had to come together pretty quick for Mogul Money. I think the final result ended up hitting a bit less hard in my head and felt like we had some better takes, but there wasn't a lot of time to run through drafts and be choosey. Originally I wanted a "two ludwigs on screen" moment at the end but Ludwig pushed for me throwing my pubes in there, which I think worked fine but I didn't love.
Still, I think the image and the beats come together pretty well. Ludwig is, annoyingly, very funny and cooperative during these shoots, though not the One Take Jake he rumors himself to be. Originally Michael Reeves was pitched as the science mandem, but couldn't do it on such short notice. William was perfect though, very natural at delivering lines and talked about how people in comments pissed him off, which made me instantly like him.
Kaitlin, who built the Yard set and also remodeled Ludwig's room, had to build the clone machine in 48 hours with a "just make it happen" from us, a blank check, and my shitty schematic on virtual graph paper. It turned out amazing, but I think she got 20 hours of sleep total in a two week period, yet another reason italy should never be visited by anyone, ever.

I watched this when it premiered on Mogul Money and I absolutely loved it. I also loved chat’s reaction to it too. Half way through I thought it had to be a cornbase commercial but realized how genius it is to “clone” Lud and announce his 2nd channel. Slime at the end is just the cherry on top. Looked and sounds great too. 👏🏻👏🏻

Kinda off topic, but none of my friends are creative types, and finding out that there are other people like me by listening to Nick and Slime has been a wild ride
Favourite part of all the ads is Slime's appearances, reminds me of Stan Lee cameos in Marvel movies.
