saying "i only care about mkleo and mango" means a few things 1. if you only care about two top players from two VERY different scenes, it implies a lack of connectivity with the actual grassroots community 2. it means that you are shitting on everyone else needlessly the comment just doesnt do anything productive, so "why do they talk" is more of a "shut the fuck up" because the person IS a red number, someone just mindlessly responding to ultimately shit on two whole scenes when nobody ever asked and also being a melee fan doesnt absolve anyone from criticism, nor does "wanting to be part of a community," that is not a magic bullet, it does not make one less annoying - slime

I added that to hang the lampshade because I know sometimes they get annoyed by fan opinions. I dont actually think I’m being annoying by expressing an opinion Pro tip though: If you see a comment that annoys you, you can actually scroll past it and move on to the next comment. Its this cool new tech they just patched in. You should try it out

I know I'm doing the annoying thing where a fan pipes in with their opinion but I just wanted to add 2 cents regarding the guy who tweeted "only watching for Mang0 and MKLeo." First off, I'm not defending that guy. I know that guy was wrong and fuck him for being a dickhead because saying that just makes the other 18 players feel shitty so fuck that guy. However, when Slime says "why do they talk?" was what I wanted to comment on. I feel like with the Melee scene, people feel more compulsion to chime in because they want to feel like they're part of the community. Piping in on Melee related stuff makes them feel included (again, not defending the specific guy or anyone who does this while being a jackass). I think there's also an argument to be made that the Melee community has survived so long and surpassed so many other scenes because of the super strong sense of community everyone in it feels, even including the fans at home. To be fair, Slime could have very well only been meaning to refer to the people who say mean shit without thinking when he said "why do they talk?" but it felt like it was directed at the fans in general. I'll assume its the former but I just felt like saying something because it would bother me to see Melee fans talked about like they're just "the little red number you were always meant to be"

The thing with snap streaks is that it's never actually about communicating with your friend everyday most people who do it just send like one blank snap a day to someone else just to keep it alive. Slime that’s crazy y’all wore suits to the little person wrestling if it was anything like the one I went to in my college town.
