Matt Easton & Dave Rawlings are much better if you're interested in that sort of thing. Well, I pulled out my old Fiore manuscript pdf and It does have the strange look of being a heavily altered 'True Window'... Which I was thinking of offhand but thought "Nah, It can't be, the footing and hand position is wrong"

The fact he's left handed again throws me off. But isn't it a slightly aborted "woman's guard". I'd guess the leg is out of position due to bad footing or the blow arriving mid step and him stumbling a bit.

Denovo I'm not Shadiversity, I'm just a boring regular nerd lol. On second though Tharingail I'd say you're right, though my understanding of German longsword is non-existant outside of watching youtube videos (I was taught the 'Italian' way). It definetly does remind me (Upon second glance) of one of those fancy German guards :P Does remind me of me though. That's what my guards turned into when my teacher fought against me lol, Six and a half foot tall bastard with some mean blows! (In my defence, I was a novice) Now I just sit at home doing some weird eclectic mix of self-taught Jogo do pau and Figureido! :P Edit: On third thought... I'm not even sure if Fiore even has a guard similar to that. Its been a few years but I don't remember anything similar to that guard... Hmmm

Long guard is with the point up. That looks like a left ochs with the image inverted which turned practically into a hanging guard, which is not a bad idea to parry an axe blow. Dig the art, someone actually looked at a reference for this one :)

Looks like he was in some form of 'Long guard' that got Orc bashed. Good boy Rowan... Use that orc's attack to yer advantage, sidestep him with the left foot forward and get the cunt in the neck! And lemme just say... This is a massive improvement on the previous image. Those sexy sparks bro!
