Agreed. The one scene where they have to choose what to do with the servant that happens upon them while they are discussing some secrets was a great examine of them working together. Unfortunately it seems to be one of the only times where a decision like that is made with both of them. Their cooperation or conflict I feel should be far more central to their personal journeys.

I do wish there was more options for Rowan/Alexia corruption being a shared decent instead of a point of division. Especially if there's a "follow your beloved I to the depths" sort of approach but I love the story and writing regardless.
