Definetly going to buy it this time. However I don't really understand Steam-DRM as you have mentioned in an older post. Does this simply mean you have to start steam in order to play the game or are there more differences to the patreon version?

No, the benefit of buying on steam is you pay once, and get the full game (when it is done), with staggered updates every four months.
Do steam buyers have some benefits as, say like a tier 1 patron?
