My dark elves aren't based on the drow, they are based on Melnibonians. The pale skin is a subtle homage to Elric.

It depends on the universe. As a rule, remember the universe, where there are High Elves and Dark Elves - Drow. But in other universes there are also Forest Elves and others. Personally, I think the Dark Elf is a Drow. A wicked Elf is simply an Evil Elf and nothing more.

Dark elves not Drow. Dark elves don't have to have the dark skin like drow. In the Dragonlance setting Dark elves are any elves that are "evil".
