News From The Six Realms #1 - Saving, Art, and More
🕑 Added 2017-05-02 13:23:17 +0000 UTC May is upon us, so time for a quick update on how things are getting on.One of the things we've talked about in the past, that you guys have said should be a priority issue, is the compatibility of saves. I can now happily say, thanks to a lot of work by nicc playing around in Ren'py and testing the results, that we have solved that problem. We have figured out how to get the game to patch saves, which means we can create new variables that are missing for old versions, and force the game to make changes to the saved world map to bring it in line with the changes made by us. There are still likely going to be situations where the changes made would be too tricky / too much work to patch, but from now on, more often than not, old saves will work.
I'm still waiting for art back from all three artists (which is why the art pack is late, will send it out as soon as I get the new CG back from MDN), which is holding things up a bit, but we are continuing adding more stuff while we wait. In terms of art for this month, I'm going to get 3 CGs from MDN even though we've dropped below the goal, I'm confident we'll rise about it again by the end of the month, so that shouldn't be an issue. Keidi and Erick will be working together when they have finished their current jobs to do a couple of backgrounds to help fill out the castle a bit. Speaking of, I should be able to show you the finished background for Jezera's room soon, which is my favourite one so far.
Lastly, since I think I've reached saturation in the adult game field, I've been looking into other markets which might have some crossover. I'm currently in discussions with an adult cosplayer with a decent sized fanbase about doing something for the game - more on this when things are more concrete.

There's always a drop at the start of the month due to slow payments and other financial issues. Usually most of it rebounds over a few days as that's sorted out.

Nice to hear about the enhancement the save compatibility will bring. Good work, guys. And sorry to see that the pledged amount has dropped, but I have seen that a lot this weekend by different creators too. So maybe it is normal? I am just a little bit over three months here, so I do not know really. Cosplay? With Jazera I guess? Could be the bomb that nukes the kickstart.
