🕑 Added 2017-04-24 06:45:55 +0000 UTC (Apologies in advance for any typos, I have the flu and have had less than 8 hours sleep total over the past three nights)So, a lot of comments on the post before the goal announcement, and rather than try to respond to them all, I thought it would be best to address the most mentioned points here. You may not agree with me, and that is fine, but you'll at least see my rationale.
- Not enough content
I see this a lot, and I understand why people feel this way, but I'm trying to make a game that expands as much horizontally as it does vertically. I've played a few of VN type games currently making five thousand dollars or more on Patreon, and at a guess I'd say most of them don't have more than thirty thousands words. Comparatively, my educated estimate puts the word count of Seeds of Chaos somewhere between one hundred and twenty five thousand and one hundred and fifty thousand words. If it were laid out in a linear fashion, depending on reading speed, it would take around seven to eight hours to get through. We have to balance the work on all fronts, and yes, this does make it seem like progress is slow, but it will make for a much better game because either through random determination or your own choice, you'll have a much wider play experience.
- Sex content is unfocused
Again, I understand this, but I am trying to make a broad appeal game, and this means having to balance the content added. Obviously, for people who only have one specific kink, these means they are limited in what they can enjoy, and that is a shame, but there's not a lot I can do in the short run. It'd be incredibly cynical and unfair to the majority of patrons to just pick one fetish and add a load of scenes featuring it, so all I can do is keep adding more scenes every release until the pool is large enough to make most people happy. Since DM joined at the end of last year, we've added nearly twenty scenes, and there's no reason we couldn't add a similar amount over the next few months. And yes, we know there's only one yuri scene, one futa scene, one monstergirl scene, etc, and we are working on addressing that.
- Missing features
You guys mentioned this and I listened, fixing a lot of castle stuff that wasn't there in the last release. More will be finished in the upcoming one, and spying, breeding, jobs, and more are coming. I just have to balance adding this stuff with events otherwise we are back at the "no content" thing again.
So as you can see, I am listening, and I'm doing the best I can. If you think about where the game was six months ago, we are making good progress. I am not an idiot, as certain parts of the internet claim, and know if I wanted to make money I could just exploit popular fetishes, but I don't want to make a furry breeding sim, or a shitty 3d incest VN using stock assets, I want to make this game. Yes, it is a very ambitious project, and a conservative estimate is probably that it'll require over a thousand events in total, but this isn't impossible. It was never my plan to try and strike it lucky and sit here paying myself an obscene amount of money; the more the patreon makes, the more staff I can hire. It isn't unrealistic to think that if we had another writer or two, we could add forty to fifty thousand words, and half a dozen or more sex scenes per month.
As long as funding goes up every month (and it does), the game is succeeding. I started as a solo dev, and now we are on stage two, a tiny team. Eventually we'll reach small team level, it is just a matter of how long.

This game is really ambicious and until now, you are doing a great job. Of course, good things require money, and it will take some time before you can have enough H-scenes to please everyone.

I like the game and the fact that it has such a large scope to it. I also like the variety of sexual encounters included. Most games are not willing to include homosexual content even when it makes senses.

Everything is great the way it is. I only hope there would be an option to turn homosexual content off the same way we can get rid of NTR.
The game is growing to be very ambitious and awesome with every update. While I don't particularly enjoy certain fetishes, I'm glad that there are opportunities to avoid that content. The quality of both the sprites and the character scenes is rather impressive and I look forward to seeing you grow!

You're making an enormously ambitious game but the quality is right up there with any professionally made VN from overseas. I was a little dubious at first but as the game has evolved I'd have to say that it's one of my favorite projects right now. Keep up the good work!

Go straight towards your goal, we will follow. The game is actually much better storywise then most of the games and visual novels I read in the past. And while I personally do not find certain sexuality (male on male) arousing, I still believe that it belongs to Seeds of Chaos as any other fetish (like ntr). Because the multitude of diversity makes the story more realistic and you as the player still have the last decision if you take that route at all.

I have to say the game is one of the best I've tried at least of it's type. I love the way the game is a VN but it cleverly mixes it up with RPG elements etc. Sexual content is obviously the selling point of most adult games and I think there is more than enough content especially if it's added as regularly as of now. I like the scene -> cg way of building the adult content so you're not pressured to add all at once. / Only negative comment I can mention is the CG art itself. In my opinion the sprites of the game are amazing and very high quality and promise a lot and the style change in the actual art is quite a letdown comparing to the sprites. Don't get me wrong though, they're still pretty good. (Sprite Andras and CG Andras look like entirely different characters though. That is the only problematic CG art-thing for me.)

Making a quality game is a lenghty and very har task. After the framework is set the content can be filled in rather easier. You are doing good work, so thank you for that.
