News From the Six Realms #20 - Monthly Releases, Plans for 2018, and More
🕑 Added 2018-01-03 14:07:37 +0000 UTC Happy New Year everyone!So, the big news, as previously mentioned is that we are now hovering around goal three. As predicted, the grand total has dropped a little as people adjusted down following last month's release, but the majority of declined payments should go through over the next week or two, so we should be safely back above the $5k mark sooner than later. I need a little time to adjust to a four week release cycle, so the next one will be mid-February, with monthly releases to follow (as long as we don't dip under).
With it being a new year, I thought it'd be a good time for another roadmap post. With Yron now onboard, hopefully things are going to speed up a bit; the current plans look a little like this:
Near future - Completion of the Orciad, Helayna escape path #2, Fey arc, Alexia forge job
Mid future - Map expansion, goblin recruitment campaign, first major town (Rastedel), nemesis system
On the horizon - The Frozen Tundra
In addition to the above there will also be, of course, new ruler / exploration / resource events, more sex scenes for pretty much every character, more job content for Alexia, more new staff content, and much more.
So, moving on to the final item for today, work is ongoing for the next release. As you can see above, Erick is almost done with a gorgeous background for swamp events. Keidi was a little unhappy with Liurial's face, so she's working on improving that, and then she'll be making sprites for two new characters that the backers will be seeing in the near future. MDN is a little behind due to the holiday season, but once he finishes the drider CG from last month's commission list, he'll be moving onto the ones for January (which will also be shared with the backers in the near future). I'll probably do the next CG poll next week, so if you a poll level backer, keep your eyes open for that.
That's all for today. I'll be making an announcement about the side project and some other changes in a few days, but in the meantime, I'm looking forward to the next year in Solansia, and I hope you guys are too. :)

Has there been any thought of crossing scene's over? As we entered servicing one of the twins will the other drop in to protect their interests . . . Jezera would want to have influence on Rowan if he's serviced Andras - her sneaky nature. Wouldn't Andras want to prove Rowan's a wuss by doing him after he satisfied Jezera initially? Just some thoughts as this seems to be a game having layers, twists, turns etc.

I looked through the Overview and posts and couldn't find an answer to my question. I was wondering if there were plans, or consideration for Rowan to eventually subjugate the twins? I've wanted to kill the brother, and dominate Jezera but I wasn't sure if that was in the cards for SoC. Also, I'm hoping that events will be triggered by talking to characters, and not purely by the RnG as they seem to be now.

So I hope this means we can use visit in the living quarters section. Hopefully this means Rowan can get lucky with his wife more often? Or could we run into Alexia while she is working.

We're going to start moving character events to locations, and after that we'll do more of this sort of thing. There's already a favour system for the twins, that does what you are suggesting with Andras though.
Kyle makes a really good point, that could work very nicely
Is there any plan for ways to interact with some of the characters at the castle? Right now we have the random events, but there's no way to improve, say Andras' chances of listening to Rowan or a quest we could do for Greyhide. I'm thinking of things that would have a cost to Rowan's corruption or the degree to which other characters like him. I know we already have a few random events that give us that choice, but it feels strange to be able to decide where Alexa works yet not be able to decide who Rowan tries to bury the hatchet with, befriend, spy on or humiliate.
