News From the Six Realms #18 - Introducing Roisin, the Nemesis System, Relationships, and Side Project Reveals

She is another underling of the twins who aims to usurp Rowan's position; an assassin-mage with a little something extra down below.We are still working on the nemesis system, and it is still a ways off and subject to change, but I can reveal a few things:
First, each run will contain two nemesis' (although they'll probably be staggered). We'll probably give you the option to either choose which ones you want, or for the game to decide at random (although some might be conditional, haven't decided yet). One of the nemesis' will be chosen from a pool of "desirable" characters, and if the right conditions are met, they can be defeated and brought under Rowan's control. The other will come from a second pool of characters who aren't particularly attractive, but offer other bonuses for defeat.Each nemesis will attack Rowan in a specific way. Roisin's method, which will probably be popular with a few of you, is through Alexia. Lastly, each nemesis will have a special "bad end", should you game over when they are active.
We've also been looking into ways to address two criticisms that come up a lot:
Firstly, a lot of you have said about not getting character events you want, and though the weighting as helped, it still isn't working as well as we would like. DM is working in a new system where instead of those events being random, you can visit the NPC instead to trigger them, which will allow those of you who want to see events with certain characters to do so easily. We'll start to implement that in the near future, as it requires coding and moving some current ruler events.
Secondly, in regards to your request for more dominant content, we are planning to give Rowan a "staff", that is, people who work directly under him (as opposed to the other NPCs who work for the twins). He'll be able to dominate these without the issues raised by dominating most of the other characters currently in the game. In addition, when Yron is working at the proper rate, we'll spend some time looking at old scenes and adding options for Rowan to be more active like the first scene, as requested.
Lastly, stuff is starting to pile up from the side project, so from now on I'll be doing one side project reveal per week. Lookout for the next member of Jess' party in the next couple of days.

Would like to see Rowan becoming more dominant with the current crop of female NPC's as well, although if that ever does become the case then it would probably make more sense to tie that into a stage where he becomes completely selfish and corrupt. Wouldn't work if he still thought of himself as a hero of Solensia. :)

I really like this game. The development is steady and seems really fast. I understand that many people want more dominant content, but please do not cut off the submissive one, some might enjoy that as well :)

Yes, there is a difference between being forward and dominant but I think what most people are complaining about isn't the fact that Rowan isn't dominating woman, but rather that he never even really approaches them with confidence and desire. He is almost always forced or guilted into sex by woman in positions of power. I don't mean to be annoying here, but it is a distinction worth making.
I'm really glad you managed to get to creation of Nemesis. This was one of the things that really impressed me in your initial presentation of the game: wild and interesting mix of RPG, strategy and even boardgame elements ("decks" like Nemesis). This game has potential to be something much more than just another railroaded erotic VN. Your team spend a lot of time to build a foundation of the game, not all of these things were flashy and exciting. But now all this elements from original vision are starting to appear and connect with each other and it's just great :)

I like that visiting the NPCs can trigger events, that will be a huge plus. I've played through the game quite a few times, but the only way I ever got the Cla-Min event to trigger was with the dev tool, and the Alexia/Greyhide scene took me forever despite having the first event of the chain trigger regularly (I'm admittedly a huge fan of Alexia and the NTR so I want that scene every playthrough lol). The new character looks like a lot of fun as well! Awesome work with everything so far, can't wait to see what's next!

There's a difference between forward and dominant. As I said in the post, clearly, we are going to be going back and adding options to existing scenes to be more forward. We'll be adding staff so Rowan can be dominant.

Yeah, there's over 700 patrons now, plus all the people who play and don't back the game, so keeping everyone happy is a very difficult task. I do try my best though.

I'm reminded of how much I like the art-style of this game. Still she seems a little too similar to our existing female+. I would expect an assassin to be more athletic looking. Also I'm not sure about the addition of a staff. I like more dominant scenes and the idea, but updates for existing characters are already so slow, and I don't see why Rowan can't be dominant/forward/confident with existing female characters the same way he is with the males.
The truth is that this game has many players, each with their own fetishes and tastes and everyone wants to see more of one thing or another, I personally like Rowan being involved with other men, there will be who not but the beauty of this game is that we all have our place here and I think we have to respect the likes of others and the effort that puts the team to have us all happy.

I like that there'll be more dominant content, though perhaps there should be more regular consensual sex as well. Apart from Alexia, the only consensual stuff is with the female orc. Even Cla-Min, who flirts with Rowan all the time and genuinely admires him, has him whore himself out for a magic sword instead of just have sex.

To be honest my first thought at reading that the nemesis has something extra down below, was, fine another cock to suck for submissive Rowan! And I was about to withdraw my pledge. But I steeled myself and read on, and discovered that Roisin's method of attack would be through Alexia. And a heavy stone dropped from my soul. That is fine, another cock for Alexia and attached to something extra above, was something I can appreciate. And reading that Rowan will get a more dominant behavior towards WOMAN (I hope that is the intention), is indeed what I hoped for. So I stay a while longer. But nobody of the staff has so far commented, why Rowan has no problems being dominate towards male characters, like Draith, Cla-bow and even Greyhide. There is still the issue why he behave in regards to male on male sex totally different as in regards to straight sex. Why has he no guilty conscience towards Alexia and no remorse in engaging in male on male sex, while this is an issue for straight sex? As I appreciate that there will be a change, the fundamental issue, the totally different behavior of Rowan, is still part of the story. And while I can live and let live, I believe it is high time to implement a switch for deactivating gay-content like the one for sexual content.

Wow, there is a very interesting stuff to see. With random/selected events - is it possible to add dynamic weights to random events - NPCs who you visit more often/or selected another way, have like 5 or 10 times higher chance?
I got goose bumps when I thought of Roisin "messing" with Alexia. Hahahaha

Is it necessary to beat the Nemeses when they are active? Or could you have Roisin mess with Alexia, lose, and continue the game?
