Four Points from the Most Recent Poll

I'm just going to talk a little today with the power of sexy number points about what the poll said, and how it will effect development in the short term.
1. Sex Sells
The winner, unsurprisingly, was more CGs for the sex scenes. Since the first two funding goals are for more of these, it doesn't really change anything on the development front, it just reenforces the fact you are all a big bunch of pervs. :)
2. People do want more mechanics
I'm always a bit wary about adding more strategy elements, because part of me wonders if people just want to fap, but mechanics came second on the poll, so we'll continue working on what we had planned. These will continue to be strategy light (think more X-com base mechanics, and less Dwarf Fortress). A design doc with these on will be posted for backers later, and we'll be doing a new poll to see which ones people are most interested in.
3. Slow and steady wins the race
Third up on the poll was getting the missing assets into place. Some people rightly suggested by taking the extra time to make the game look polished in its current state might bring in more backers due to a good first impression. So instead of pushing on to the next region, as I was planning, I'm going to spend a little time to finish overhauling the castle, add missing backgrounds, etc. Don't worry, we'll continue to add a good number of events with each release as we have been for the past few months, so the game will keep getting bigger that way.
4. Less popular assets
Cinematic CGs and music both got zero votes, so these will continue to be very low priority. I'd like to add them someday as I think they do add to the atmosphere of the game, but they are on the backburner for now unless funding increases significantly. In the meantime, I've switched the goal at 4k from hiring Hikari to getting in another writer, as this would allow us to add more events per release, and spend more time working on the mechanics that the voters want.
So that should give you some idea of where things are heading in the near future. The release will be out this weekend to the backers, and I can reveal that since we are a little ahead of schedule it will include the first visit to the keep, and the introduction of Helayna. The continuation of that storyline (the capture of the keep) will follow in next's month release. Public release will be weekend of 11th March.

It'll be mostly polls with me choosing stuff that new gets picked every now and then to keep it fair (ie. non-straight stuff). When we get to the second goal (optimism! lol) it'll be one voted and one chosen by me per month.

I do have a question on the sex CG's, actually. It's fairly obvious that you've been going in chronological order of when they can happen until now, but after the second Rowan x Alexia scene is finished, the scenes (That we have currently) are all randomized or semi-randomized events. How do you determine which ones to do after that? Is it based on what pairing types are under-represented for the CG stuff(In this case I'd imagine Alexia x Jezera the logical choice due to having no F/F pairings illustrated), or is it based on scene popularity, say via polls or just general vibe from comments?

DM is doing most of the writing at the mo, so I can work on the other stuff to get the releases out quickly, but I'm hoping to get back to doing a lot myself when the game is a bit bigger. :)
Content is always a winner. The more content a game has the better it is. Oh and fapping should not be underrated since this is supposed to be a sexy game (LOL). Are you doing all of your own writing or are you outsourcing scenes?

It is actually a bit of a relief as those CGs are the most expensive asset, so it means I can get "more" from the money elsewhere, so to speak. :)
Hey. I just wanted to say that I really love music in the game. It's awesome. That's why I wrote that I would vote for everything if I could. However I believe that game now in such situation that spending more resources on it or cinematic CG is not very feasible. At least until all the needed art in place and game mechanics are working properly. You actually always promised a proper game with serious strategic component (event decks, Nemesis, castle managing, etc in original plan), not just story with sex, so I think it's only fair that people are expecting this.
