Another Update, and a New Character
🕑 Added 2016-11-23 13:33:37 +0000 UTC Hello All,So the good news is everything is now pretty much done except the map. The bad news is while the map is well on the way to being done, it is currently throwing up a critical (pickle) error whenever you try to save the game. I'd still like to get the game out in the next week or so, but as is the nature of programming problems I can't really know how long this problem will take to fix, as we don't know why it is happening. While my programming guy works on it though, DM and I will keep working on adding content. If it takes longer, the release will at least be even bigger. If any of you are pro programmers who work mainly in Python and have experience with Ren'Py and want to take a look, let me know.
Above you can see the concept art for the next character to be added to the game, who will be in charge of building. He is a dark dwarf, or as they are known in the game, a dagmir.
The dwarfs were among the first races of Solanse, and during the golden age they built their great cities underground, where their unrivelled craftsmanship produced some of the finest works known to man, some of which that still exist today. However, after the incident that destroyed the Empire of Neryon weakened the veil between this world and the Outer Dark, the voice of Chaos began to whisper into the ear of the dwarven king, Tolvar. Tolvar became greedy and paranoid, and instructed his smiths to forge chains strong enough to enslave a god. Now, thousands of years later, Tolvar's folk have become the dagmir, and their skin is as dark as the foul deed the king undertook long ago. Driven by greed and lust, they force their chained diety, Orradin Forgebound, to work day and night to fulfil their every whim.

The first thought I had after I saw the new dwarf character was if we would get a gay scene with the main character and him, maybe it is a way to get a discount on the next building ;-)

I also like the concept art and lore. Anyway even if it is maybe a bit hypercritic it leaps to my eyes (maybe cause I m a gay guy) that all the female chars a highly attractive and scantily dressed while most of the male guys are maybe interesting chars but far away from being sexy. Is it supposed to be so or did I get the wrong impression?

Yeah, if I can't get it sorted in the next week or so, that's what I'll do. Hopefully it won't come to that though. :)

I'm a professional python developer, i don't know ren'py but i could probably take a look and give you some guidance to fix your bug, just give me the traceback and the piece of code that throw the error.

Perhaps this is the dumbest suggestion ever but... why not just disable the save function for this release? Dwarven lore is cool btw, looking forward to more of that stuff :)
