6/24 update:
Hey floofs!! Busy week for me in the Forest! I added a pause menu to the Dustin Dash Challenge minigame, worked with Carrot on various updates in preparation for an Itch.io release we're planning soon, did more foundational improvements for fullscreen touch support and optimized performance on phones, and created a demo of localization (language translation) in the Start Menu!
For now, I set up some test languages (English, Spanish, Japanese, and UwU) and used online translation services to fill a big spreadsheet of translated text. This experiment let me explore how to swap fonts depending on the selected language, sync text updates to the translations spreadsheet, and swap the languages shown in the menu screens while the game is running.
This week I'll be working with Carrot on more Itch.io related stuff, including bringing in some new content we're adding to Acts 1-3. Have a nice week! <3
Fuckin' HELLLLA exciting! The touch stuff is looking robust too! We've had ideas of how to make the game fully designed, but our previous systems weren't robust enough to be able to identify and do different contextual commands for inputs. (like, swipe, or touch etc)
That said, all of these are in another project, dare I say the 3.0 TFOL build lmao. So we won't be seeing a transition to these newer revamped systems for a while. But Vixels been making sure the foundations will be robust enough for everything we need whenever that time does come.
Meanwhile, heres an update on the Mabel toys!
WE'VE GOT A SAMPLE OF THE CUSTOM BAGS! It's glorious! I don't physically have it, but it fits the toy and we need to get them done, so I went ahead and pulled the trigger on production.
Moving on - Vixel mentioned it a bit above, I've been wanting to include and tune up some stuff for Acts 1-3 for a while. In the future, I actually wanna redo the intro/tutorial. But for now, we've got a few more updates.

Refreshed idle dialogues after the storm
Added small narrative intros to several of the earlier animations.
So mainly a lot of writing and prepping for me! Some new assets too. But mainly writing.
We're hoping to get the itch.io release out soon, but there's a lot to add here. So we'll keep pluggin' away~!

A check-it, in Spanish in the word Quit, would not be Resign, it would be more like "Salir" or "Abandonar"
