CARROT UPDATES!
🕑 Added 2024-10-04 19:44:30 +0000 UTCOK, so my life got stupid busy over the past couple weeks, and will continue to do so. But in the meanwhile, I owe y'all some posts! Not a lot TFOL related, but some fun stuff none-the-less!
Here's an itinerary of what I had/have on my plate.
My Grandma passed! We weren't super close, but gawdamn is it a sobering reminder that folks are getting old =(. Reach out to your older folks once in a while! I will be flying out for a service next weekend. I've had to run around recently getting a suit and getting fitted for it.
Last week I visited a friend and went to AFC. Dope con! Met a lot of animation industry folks, and god damn does it make me wanna move out to california again Dx! Also re-met up with some old artschool homies, and it was a god damn blast hanging again.
I WAS SICK DURING THAT TRIP. Nothing too bad, but I've been getting this weird vertigo thing since. STILL GOT IT. Pretty dumb, so I've been resting a lot.
I've been doodling! I'll share that in a bit.
During that trip, I saw a gallery of one of my favorite artists, Beth Cavener! I got some REAL nice photos, so I'll share that in a bit too.
BLFC trip is the day right after my grandma's funeral >->! So lots of flying, and I'll be out again for a bit.
Art-wise, I keep trying to find something that's gonna work for my hands in the long term. If y'all recall, I had this crazy UBS cyborg hand, which I STILL THINK is absolutely amazing. But, I noticed a big weakness of mine is using the pinky, seemingly at all. I came back from my trip, and just within an hour of drawing I was already feeling some complaints on my hand. SO DUMB. This issue has changed my relationship with art, and it's dumb as hell.
SO, I'm off to finding more solutions. Enter, the small macro keypad...
With all of this shenanigans, I've gotten A REALLL nice handle of how I want my specific actions being bound. This has been a learning process over so many tools. The normal keyboard, an xbox controller, a mini bluetooth controller, the cyborg hand, and now this thing. Big props to ReWASD for their dope ass program being really versatile.
I picked this up yesterday and it's pretty dang promising so far. I might even pick up a second for some less-commonly used hot keys... Part of the game changer here is I use JUST my middle 3 fingers for mostly everything.

So that's what I've been up to and will be being up to for the next couple weeks. OH YEAH AND MY FRIDGE/FREEZER BROKE. lmaooo, fortunately my dad clutched it out and got that figured out while I was away. New one came in yesterday!
