This Week in the Forest! #196
🕑 Added 2025-09-15 04:27:28 +0000 UTCYO FOLKS! Gawd DAMN it's been a busy past couple weeks.
The toy shipping went super well! Vixel came by, and we BASICALY did 12-14 hour days packing and prepping everything, then taking it for shipping xD Everything went well, but it also went exactly as well as possible given the time frame. Down to POTENTIALLY missing Vixels return flight, but it got delayed xD
Anywho, the week after I was doing a buncha follow up stuff regarding unconfirmed addresses, customs issues, AND finding out that about 2% of the Mabels have damage on them! Fortunately the Manufacturers are really awesome and working with us to figure things out. The next batch i'll be opening to QA check after the overseas shipping.
What else was I up to... OH RIGHT I BINGED SILKSONG FOR A WEEK.
And on Vixel's side, he's been bug crunchin' and adding more polish. But it's a lot of behind the scenes stuff. We meet up and go over a list and widdle it down.
That's about it for the past few weeks. BUT I WANNA TALK ABOUT THE FUTURE NOW.

10$ Tier is getting a big buff!
Over the past several months, a friend and I have been messing with another game in Unreal >o>! I've made absolute sure to keep it super simple (which is of course, already complex and a lot to figure out xD) - but most of that has been on my friends side. This one's in 3D, and to those of you who played my very first "game" - will recognize the title! This is HORSING AROUND PART 2!
Y'know the animations y'all have been voting on? Well this is what they've been for!
I really wanna have a focus of sound design, voice acting, and fun dialogue for this. But of course, that's where things get really complex haha.
In any case, eventually, we'll be having a build ready for y'all. It's still very much in the early stages, but i think this is a fun time to share stuff since large changes/updates are most evident now.
Don't worry about TFOL. That's still the main game, and takes a majority of my focus. This new one has already been in production since February and it's been very do-able to juggle. Most of my side is just doing the 3D Animation which I've been doing for y'all anyways.
But this will help us get some more dedicated money to our other dev. I've been paying him on the side this whole time and my budget is drying up haha.
When it's time to fully launch the transition, I'll make a better informative post about it! Just know this is on the horizon!

Anyways, back to TFOL! Let's chat about another mini-game/feature we'll be adding down the road!
SCARLETT'S DUNGEON!
If you recall, there's a couple quests (now adventures) featuring a bunch of critters in this dungeon! The plan was to get a more interactive/choice version where the player can freely move to different critters and interact with them. Kinda like The Rack game and others I'm sure y'all are familiar with. This isn't really a mini game, but it would have some hidden conditions and shenanigans to find while messing about!
You get to choose a few critters to mess around with.
The combo will influence the dialogue. Perhaps a certain combo will have bonus content.
I'd like the critters to be reactive to what's happening. And there will be conditions like a critter might not want to use this toy, or do this thing etc.
This one's still not very ironed out, but the general idea is there!

Anywho, I think that about sums it up... Most recently I've been doing sound effect stuff for Peter's Scavenge. But I gotta get back to animating stuff or maybe making some new locations for Act 5...
