TWITF #195 - Peter's Scavenge!
🕑 Added 2025-08-27 05:37:19 +0000 UTCYO FOLKS! Sorry it's been a minute. Shit's been pretty chaotic because THE MABELS HAVE ARRIVED AT MY HOUSE AND THEY WILL BE SHIPPED THIS WEEK! (Assuming all goes well)
But first, what have we been up to?!
Vixel's been doing more bug fixing and started act 4 asset integration!
I've been working on the final animations still, but JUST FINISHED the base animation for the 1st one! There will be two scenes. This first one is 86 frames :O! And it's pretty complicated, but these are supposed to be the end-of-campaign animations, so figured I'd go pretty hard with em :>! I still gotta bring them to aseprite, animate the cum, seperate some fluid loops with the normal loops, add blinks, give it a background, etc. So plenty to do still. But the main shenanigans is all done! Very cool.
IN ADDITION! We've been in touch with another dev to help us with some of these future mini games! I put together the mock-up above to give direction on the UI/motion graphics for one of the new mini games. We're really excited to have their help and are stoked to see where things go!
SO LET'S TALK ABOUT PETER' SCAVENGE!
This mini game is a UI-Based mini-game. Not super unique of a concept, but it'll be a good addition and be a source of materials/items for other TFOL mini games! (like cooking!)
Peter's volunteered to offer his services for Rascal to go hunt for stuff! Who knows what he'll find? You get to choose where to send him and what to send him with! He'll be gone for a bit and return with his findings!
There will be several locations with several items to find in each.
The things you equip Peter with will dictate what he might find!
Items will be used for other mini games/quests/shenanigans around the forest.
Again, TFOL is not a currency-based game, so you won't need to spam-send Peter to the same location to get a bunch of crap.
It is Time based. But we'll have a few features including forms of growth/quality of life that you unlock while playing!

This is the first mini game we're starting with with our dev friend. It also works since this will be how the player gets a majority of the cooking ingredients, so players will need access to this pretty early on.
I'm super stoked to see how these all come out! BUT YEAH ANYWAYS LETS MOVE ONTO OTHER STUFF.

That's the MABELS! That's like, 50 of them or something? So there's 10x more in my living room.
Vixels will be arriving to my house tomorrow and we're gonna start the process of packaging em up! ITS GONNA BE A PROCESS LOL. But should be fun. If all goes well, we'll have these sent out on Friday.
SO yeah, the past week, I've been pretty busy getting everything. Cleaning up the house to host Vixel, but also ironing out and making sure everything is prepped for our packaging/shipping spree!

Doing these in batches is a really good idea. That way if theres no demand for them you can just stop, then pick them back up when there's more demand. Selling out in preorders is fantastic! I hope you made enough back for profit and another batch :D
