8/2 weekly report:
Hi! Last week I crunched to finish monthly builds! This included most of the scripting around returning to the coyotes to pick up the finished sweater, sweater-related stuff (scripts to automatically equip/unequip at the mountain, adding the inventory item and achievement screen, Red's new sweatered dialogue portrait, etc) integrating particle systems for Glowy Things (spoilers!) and adding the Act 2 finale illustration and cutscene.
Then some bugfixing after posting the builds! As we remade the builds to include bugfixes, we used the opportunity to add another cool particle system for Rascal making snow footprints in the mountains!
I also got all the Dustin minigame animations aligned and transitioning properly. Next up is choreographing the new attacks! We'll have that ready to show in the next build. (Ran out of time to finish in July)
Did more particle system stuff today. Carrot and I are finding some really fun uses for them. I'll be fleshing out the work we did today as the week goes on, finishing the Dustin choreography, and cleaning up miscellaneous Act 2 polish todos.

That gif up above is an example of the particle systems in Unity :>
First I hand animated this lil guy, then set up the particle emitter to randomize a TON of stuff. The size, the color, the start frame, fading in/out, changing the size over the life etc! The system is super robust, so you can do a ton of fun stuff like this!
Add all of the programming magic Vixel does and you can get some super fun stuff! We're stoked for the level of polish this sorta thing adds :> For apparently pretty minimal performance cost too! Dope!
Other than that, I've been doing a buncha audio work, and I can't seem to find an easy way to link them here... but that's ok, ya'll will hear them soon :> Most of them are for Dustin's mini game.
Lots of the stuff we've been doing is long-time to dos, and random polishes here and there while we get things ready! Speaking of which, that top gif has our 2.0 TitleScreen visual :O Much cleaner!
