v0.16 CHANGES:
- Lanora legend Part 2 with full color artwork! Gossip with Augustus to see it!
- Peter, Bucky and Scarlett date with full color artwork! This one's a particularly fun interaction! Hope you guys enjoy it =)
- Three additional Dates! These will spawn randomly nearby Maverick's shop after you finish Maverick's delivery quest.
- Scarlett and Penny (You must play Penny's story to unlock this date.)
- Bucky and Augustus
- Mabel and Maverick
- NEW SYSTEM! Critter gifts! There are five different gift objects you can be given!
- One of these upgrades your Notebook with a new page between Quest Log and Inventory.
- Augustus, Maverick, Oliver, Peter and Scarlett will give you the gifts by a random chance anytime after you collect Finley's wool. Approach them, and they will call out to you! (we will be increasing the range in the future)
- More on all this below!
- Central Forest fast travel perch!
- 14 New Gossips! - Mainly for Oliver, The Coyotes, and Peter! But some additional gossips for other critters as well.
- Introducing All Critter Gossips! - Occasionally, Rascal will stumble upon something that may inspire him to ask new questions to all of the critters! Scarlett will offer a new 1-step quest in Act 2 to introduce this!

- LOTS of bug fixes! Including a buncha new ones and edgecases we've made by introducing these new systems lolo
- We've removed the "cheat-tiles" on the top left. Now you can't accidentally restart stuff! CHAPTER SELECT (with the C button) will be your friend if you want to hop around!

OK DANG. We weren't planning on this being a super huge update, but it's kinda got a lot lmao.
Disclaimer - This version INTRODUCES our Critter Gift system! The placement/unlock requirements are not finalized - so these will change in the future as more content is pushed out. But for now, we wanted to get this system in as it's vital for our narrative and the experience!
SO WHAT IS CRITTER GIFTS?
Critter gifts serve a few purposes!
- They symbolize your bond with the critters! Giving a sense of progression!
- They will offer Power Ups, Accessibility, and Quality of Life for the player as they progress through our game!
- It's also an immersive element that gives the critters their own agenda! Like the dates!
The system is in, but only just! For now, some of these gifts don't do anything. But every critter will give you something, and every gift will definitely have an effect! We're super stoked for what this adds to our game :>!

Act 2 Is all about showing Rascal's involvement changing the forest a bit. With the help of Critter Gifts and Critter Dates, we're able to show that change via gameplay elements. Elements that also show the depth of our characters, and eventually, our world!
Since a lot of these recent changes are more Non-Linear, we're liiiikely gonna have to start looking at supporting save-progress across updates... It's a tricky balance though, since that will likely open up a world of new bugs/things to fix - and discontent when we inevitably can't support those older saves due to major changes... But It's always been something on our bucket list, and a MUST before we get this on Steam.
We've been making good solid progress, Act 2 is quite close now to being finished up. We're still working on a rather large minigame, I've got 2 animations to do, and all the additional lil' illustrations from stories/dates that will continue to come up.
Still no ETA on when Act 2 will be totally finished, and we'll be keeping it that way. But we're making some awesome progress, and we're so thankful for you guys sticking around and helping us out!

just finish this game in an hour and runs this game with no problem. looks really nice and love what ya done so far.

make sure all drivers are up to date a intall Tools that help games run better by useing somthing like Driver Booter its free. also make sure if its does it both in Win mode and full screen to make sure its the game and also turn all overlay off if you have any to makre sure its not an overlay that do it.

Another thing that comes to my mind after finished it thru: some still images can't be regularly revisit (like Peter, Bucky and Scarlett date one), so it would be nice to have a still image gallery alongside the animation gallery
Finally have the time to test it out today, love it when the changelog is long :P Keep up the great work! Yet there's some minor issues along the ride: 1) I'm playing it on a AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, the processor might be relatively old but the game is taking 30-50% of my CPU according to the Task Manager, a pixel unity game shouldn't be that consuming. 2) The game lags for about 0.1 seconds everytime it autosaves, probably a threading issue. it's not quite noticeable during most of the gameplay, but in those gathering tasks it became mroe obvious and distracting.

There is a lot of good work here. The new dates are splendid, even the casual ones! And, The Critter Gift’s system seems very interesting, there’s a lot of opportunity in it. Am looking forward to see what will come of it~ Overall everything just makes me want to know more about the cast and spend more time with them~! fantastic job so far!!! 😍
