UNTIL THEN, I wanna announce a few things!
One – it’s my birthday today :D Cool! I'm 28. Fuq.
Two – Recently, Vixel and I have been doing weekly meetings on Monday to catchup and plan out what’s next. Before it was kinda at random as needed, but we decided to switch to something more consistent. This gives us an opportunity for weekly updates! Not builds, but posts talking about what we’ve been up to the past week.
We’ll call these segments. This week in the Forest. So let’s start this first one! It’ll be jam packed since it’s a lot of what we did in the past month.
Let’s talk story stuff!
First off, we’ve been meaning to get Vixel into more of the creative part, since he’s been in the weeds programming hardcore. So last month he took some time to map out and write up a buncha stuff for the remainder of Act 2 and making headway into Act 3!
Due to this, we’ve increased the length of Act 2, but we’ve got some extra fun stuff going on!
Here’s a quick glimpse at the massive amount of mapping out he did. This is a quick jotting of the first act.

This is not indicative of "how far" we are into the game's development, a lot of this later text is exploration and includes rough dialogue 'n what not. But it's still a ton of content, planning, and time!
On my side, I take the various plans, write the dialogue and choose the portraits. Sometimes we need more portraits, sometimes not.
We've got this master document of all of the portraits, and a custom script to import our own shorthand codes, in this case [pic=x] and assign the portrait!
Lots of content is prepped! Next up is implementation!
Let’s Talk Programming!
Vixel’s also been up to a lot of Quality of Life debugging stuff, and revamping our sex scene player to accommodate our more complex scenes! He’s got a post about it on his twitter here, but here’s the gif!
And here’s some screen shots of the quality of life stuff! He’s been doing a buncha stuff to keep track of progress of the player, we mentioned it a bit before with all the restructuring – But now he’s been able to create a “chapter select” – as well as incorporate dialogue skipping! Absolute GAME CHANGER for debugging lmao. I believe we’ll be leaving these tools in during these monthly builds.

Let’s Talk Art!
The 15$+ Patreon folks helped us decide on the type of critter for the first “Legend” in the game! Looks like Ferret one by a long shot! I doodled up some of the runner-up critters, Opossum and Chinchilla! (Who knows, they might make an appearance as well…)
I kept doodling some ferrets until I settled on this design! I’ve got a rough sketch ready for her legend :> Stoked for seeing how these all unfold!
Speaking of illustrations. I’ve also made a ton of progress on last month’s voted Penny story! The illustration is done, but I haven’t smoothed out the dialogue/writing for it just yet! We miiiight have it in the next build :O!
I’ll just share some sketches that didn’t make the cut! Same concept, but what I went with is more intimate and better composed :>
Lastly, I wanted to share some progress on the next big sex scene! I had a 4 frame sketch loop posted a bit earlier, but for the sake of the tease, I'll just show the background ;>
