Starting with a Word from Vixel!
1/24 weekly report:
Heya floofs! Last week I reviewed almost all the Act 2 scripts I brought over in the prior update, and made about five-dozen of them compatible with the upgrade project's new designs. There's another full week ahead of the same kinda work! :V
Stuff I've made compatible so far:
- Most menus and user interfaces, game options, progress unlocks.
- Any scripts that need to store or read data from the savestate.
- Scripts that interact with quests, triggers, movies, inventory items, progress unlocks behind the scenes.
Problem areas I'll be focusing on next week:
- Cutscenes, movies, and stories! Pretty much anything that starts its own dialogue still needs rework! These scripts are broken because I consolidated dialogue concerns into a centralized Dialogue Service, and all the old scripts still use an older approach.
- Tutorials and achievement screens. Most of the problems are related to them trying to access other game systems they really shouldn't know about. To clean up that design, I have to shift responsibility to other scripts.
- Player respawns, and walking from room to room. These features broke because a lot of objects that scripts were assuming would always exist are now spawned in later, and named differently.
- Fast travel. Since I changed the way the game moves the player from room to room, I need to fix doorways before I can finish fixing fast travel.
Still aiming to finish Act 2 script updates by the end of this week, but it's an aggressive goal! Likely I'll need an extra week of cleanup and bugfixing afterward since I've been rapidly changing the designs of dozens of scripts. The current estimate for our next build is sometime in mid to late February. Will update progress next week! <3

My side I finished 6 illustrations last week, including the one above :> Got about 4 more sex scenes left, and then I wanna do another 2 more to kinda like, start/finish off the event.

Other than that I've been doing more writing and script prepping! Gonna do more of that tonight. This Winter Event is gonna be a bit longer than I initially expected, but it's got a buncha fun lil things here 'n there. Totally worth it!
