🕑 Added 2021-11-17 07:11:12 +0000 UTCFUUUUUQ Bros, my eyeballs are sore lmao. Had the surgery liiiike 17 hours ago. It was pretty spicy lmao, less painful/flinchy than I was expecting, BUT DEFINITELY UNCOMFORTABLE when they are pokin' around a lens in your eyeball lmaoooo.
Anywho the surgery went well. I can actually SEE! Got some issues here 'n there, but I'm not remotely recovered yet. Needless to say I'll be taking it easy this week, but before I do, we have some fun stuff to show y'all!

11/15 weekly report:
Heya floofs! I've been troubleshooting a problem reading old savegames that's holding up the Act 2 bugfix build. Unfortunately, it's looking like it won't be possible to migrate people's savegames after all. :/ So the next step is to add a cheat code so players can optionally unlock all the dates and gossips when starting a fresh game! We're hoping to finally publish the bugfix build later this week.
In the upgrade project, I'm cutting up level backgrounds to help with a technique called "frustum culling."
This reduces memory usage since the game only needs to draw the parts of the texture visible on screen, instead of one giant 2k or 4k texture. This means I need to cut each texture into a grid like this:

On my side, I've been doodling out those portraits! We've got some fun lil stuff planned for Charlotte :> Have a cute portrait!

That sounds pretty intense o.o Not a condition I've ever heard of before, but I didn't know about keratoconus either until I had a doctor diagnose me with it in both eyes! I am really glad that even if your vision isn't perfect, it's the best it's ever been. Seriously, that is awesome! I know really well what it's like to have horrible eyes too, just in a totally different manner, hehe. Hearing the full description of what you had to go through, yikes, sounds worse off than what I had to do >_> I had a needle injected into my eye (forced open) and had the eye blasted by UV rays for like, 45 minutes, basically sun burning the eye. It was so much misery I've not gone back to have it done on the other eye yet. Heh--maybe the tech has gotten better and it's less like some kind of torture technique xD But by all means my friend, super glad to hear you're through the worst of it and can focus on enjoying those factory reset eyes of yours ^^

Naw naw, I've just been super blind forever :O! Chronic macular degeneration, it's great 10/10. But I got ICL surgery! They are implanted contact lenses :O! I got the highest prescription they could offer, and it's still not enough for me to see 20/20 lmao. BUT this is infinitely better. I can absolutely see without my glasses and that's a first for me. So it's pretty dope! The glasses were getting so damn hardcore, that the distortion was getting pretty ridiculous :O! I describe it like cranking the FOV on a game by like 30% or so. It's not too bad but the SECOND your glasses move >at all< then the distortions get weird. It makes doing any sorta chores a huge pain in the ass. Anywho long story short, my eyes have been reset for now :> I'm the least blind I've ever been.

I can see that you really care and I'm not trying to be some white knight but some people would rather not disclose full details. Sorry for overthinking but if Carrot doesn't reply just know that its probably because she doesn't want to share

Carrot, was the issue with your oculars called keratoconus? Just asking because based off what I've gleaned so far from these posts, it sounds like what I went through in 2011 >_> Hope you feel better soon!

You could draw a sprite while blind and include it in the game as an Easter egg somehow.
