This Week in the Forest! #49

Starting with a word from Vixel!
10/11 weekly report:
Last week I finished the rest of my bugfixes and cleanup tasks for the upcoming Act 2 public build! ^w^ This includes one more fix for Penny's perch interact, updating the Dash Challenge minigame music, a bugfix for accidentally navigating the gallery menu while a Story was playing in the foreground, problems with spawning critters' Gifts, and some cosmetic fixes in various menus.
Also worked in the upgraded Unity project to clean up boring architecture things that will make a ton of scripts less dependent on each other, which should speed development time and reduce future bugs. Highlights include an improved save/load cycle for scripts that need storage access, and a Service Locator to help scripts find each other without needing to know extra details - for example, a script can ask the Service Locator for the Savegame object and get a reference to the object for processing, without knowing anything else about savegames or where/how they're managed.
There's a few new art assets to add, and two more unlockable illustrations, so I'll be adding those before we're ready to publish Act 2. Getting close! :}

Also those lil assets I shared last week, I colored them up! They'll be for our unlock screens while unlocking certain things. Like this particular for unlocking dates!
I've also gone ahead and tested how these guys will look as stickers :O! Like real life stickers. I'll be going to BLFC next week, and I wanted to have some fun lil hand outs! I'll share pics once they get here ^-^
Other than those assets, I've been writing up the new content, which is a Gossip with Oliver, and then the sneak peek above, which will be unlocked as a prize for not getting hit in Dustin's Novice challenge ;O!
That's about it!
We're going for our public release soon, giving us about a week of troubleshooting fires before I'm off for BLFC and Vixel gets a well deserved break too!
