Here's what we've been up to!
Starting with a Word From Vixel!
9/27 weekly report:
Heya floofs!! Last week I made a breakthrough in what was causing the elusive Finley Shearing softlock and the no-dialogue fish encounter for some players. The bug happens when highlighting Gossip in the interaction menu and walking away from a critter - if the interaction menu stays hidden until the next conversation plays, it breaks the automatic dialogue because the interaction scripts still think you still wanna gossip. This means players who gossiped with Gus or Finley would sometimes experience the bug. (But not now! I fixed it for the upcoming build) :)
Also finished scripting the coyotes and Rascal bukkake date and connecting it to the start menu. This one took some extra design since it's the first date that includes unnamed support characters who have dialogue during the scene! Had to upgrade the dialogue scripts to support placeholder critters and the ability to set a name label & choose a typewriter chirp sound for each.
Other than that, still working down the list of bugs and improvements we want ready for the Act 2 build. Just a few left!

Since I'm kinda ahead on these illustrations, I wanted to make some progress on a couple other breadcrumb dates we had in the works! I don't have sketches up for them yet, but the writing is there!
Anywho, remember some of last weeks tile shenanigans? I wanted to do more look dev faaaaaar in the future stuff! UUUUSUALLY I'd keep these to my chest for quite a bit longer since it's very far out.... BUUUT its kinda cool. So check it out!
Act 4 will be quite a departure from the normal stuff we've got set up :>! Here's a bit of look dev for the future! I pulled a lot of inspiration from the minimalism in Undertale/DeltaRune - But I wanted to add a bit more of the fidelity we have in our aesthetic. (Have you guys played Deltarune Chapter 2? it's doooope!)
Anywho, I don't wanna spoil and or talk too much about these future plans, but yeah! FUN SHIZ IN THE WORKS :>
