Seems a little unfair to blame Mark for what happened with Angstrom considering he had none of the context we as the audience were provided. He simply saw two known criminals with a hundred innocents strapped to some machine, with Cecil ordering him to stop it. Angstrom also didn't really help his case by summoning a bunch of alternate Maulers and then being surprised when they felt inclined to beat Mark to death and ignore his orders. It certainly seems like Angstrom's intentions were pure, but he was so extremely righteous he basically sabotaged his own plan and got everyone in that warehouse killed. On the other hand it does seem like his brain being all scrambled at the end was a side effect that wouldn't have happened had he not been interrupted. Worth remembering that he said Mark joins his father in nearly every universe. Obviously our Mark is different since he didn't but it's not hard to imagine at least a few reasons for why he'd join his father
