What happens when you get the director who brought us the Evil Dead movies to direct a MCU movie? Well, exactly this. Even down to the obligatory Bruce Campbell cameo! You've seen him before in (at a minimum) the Toby McGuire Spider-Man movies. He's a really fun actor! Personally, I enjoyed this movie. In the comics, The Scarlet Witch isn't always a hero by any stretch of the imagination. She is... just about as often as not a villain. Heck, in the comics, she's Magneto's daughter. Still, I really do love Elizabeth Olsen's portrayal of the character. You understand where she is coming from, even when she isn't making the... heroic choices. She didn't grow up to be a hero. She grew up with ALL of the trauma. I feel awful for her. As for creating her kids, it... isn't that simple. The ones in Westview weren't... independently real, the way they are in other universes. They would, at best, be puppets, and bound to wherever she made her hex to create them. Also, as far as Steven 616 and Christine 838 being together... the trouble is that it is the kind of thing that can create an incursion event, which can readily destroy one if not both of their worlds. Charlize Theron's character, though, is someone he's had a relationship with in the comics... and she is Dormamu's daughter (heck, you missed the fact that the doorway she sliced open was to the dark dimension!)

Fun reaction, as expected! This movie was... controversial, to say the least. People have strong feelings about this movie, and a lot of MCU fans dislike it because they feel it does Wanda a disservice (though I think there's an argument on both sides; I like Wanda as an antagonist just as I like her as a hero). That is a complicated topic, and the pandemic ended up changing both WandaVision and this film in significant ways, much of which ended up, well, working to turn Wanda into a villain. The film does such a great job though with all the parallels, showing how difficult it is for people with vast power to actually trust others (instead of taking everything into their own hands). Every version of Stephen wrestles with this, as does Wanda, Wong, all the Illuminati, and basically every major character except Christine and America. As an aside, none of the characters who died were "our" versions. That was not the Captain Carter from What If...?, just as it wasn't the Charles from the X-Men films, and so on. These were variants. So although watching Wanda snuff them in horrifying ways was... pretty traumatic, to be honest... these weren't the characters we knew and loved dying gruesomely. I particularly love all the little touches, like how 838-Wanda touched unhinged 616-Wanda's face so gently, just the way Christine touched Stephen's face shortly after. It's a flawed piece, and in my estimation it's maybe one of the worst recent MCU films on some levels, but damned if I don't still enjoy it a lot. The GREAT news is your next MCU project is Ms. Marvel, which I am sure you'll love, and it's followed soon after by what might be my very favorite MCU project, She-Hulk. Also, you have some EXCELLENT Marvel cameos coming up quite soon.

This film is jarring but for me that's the point. It's deliberately unsettling for the characters. The problem the MCU is having right now is if you take big swings you need to follow up with these characters! Dont introduced a Moon Knight or a Kate Bishop and then not feature them for years! We got a big swing with Thor in Phase 1 but then its clarified in the Avengers. People are upset with where things are left with Wanda here but in a TV show we would have got a follow up. Instead we're left in the dark with a twisted story that has so many unresolved threads. And thats just Multiverse of Madness! All these shows and films... Will it be accumulative or less than the sum of its parts?

Deadpool and Wolverine barely spoils Loki season 2 It spoils it in a way that if you haven’t seen it, she won’t even know she’s been spoiled. She still doesn’t know the ending, the main twists of the season, etc. there’s one line of dialogue that references loki season 2 and even then it’s pretty vague I don’t wanna say it here because i want her to be as unspoiled as possible Either way. She’s already reacted to it. It’s in the past I think she mentioned in her moon knight reaction that the reason she watched Deadpool 3 first was due to online spoilers being hard to avoid. That likely wasn’t the case for Loki season 2 or Agatha. She also watched the guardians holiday special out of order but that was unintentionally I think and it didn’t spoil anything either But personally I’d prefer her to stick to release order as much as possible

I really like Sam Rami’s directing style from Spiderman to Ash the evil dead . So fun tho it felt more like a Wanda movie to me than a Dr strange movie & having the plot line of him still crushing on his ex girlfriend who’s already married wasn’t needed I felt like it didn’t add anything to the movie for me but other than that I loved the wild ride through the multiverse seeing this new charterer Chavez who can travel through it with her power hope to see her again & I feel so bad for Wanda she didn’t even realize she was doing wrong till she was faced with her kids

In the beginning when you asked if he remembers Spider-Man. The answer is yes. He just forgot peter. Spider-Man wasn’t forgotten, only Peter was. Second. I think you maybe missed some dialogue or just forgot. Because you brought up at the end Wanda going to another universe and being a cool aunt and Stephen dating Christine from the other universe. They can’t do that. The reason why is just being in another universe can cause an incursion. Which is why the Illuminati thini Him and America Chavez are dangerous Dreamwalking is *more* dangerous. In that it exasperates the incursion. But even strange just being there could cause it. It’s not guaranteed. But possible. They say that the longer they stay and the more things they do to impact a universe, the greater chance of an incursion So in the end credit scene when Clea (who’s the daughter of Dormamu - the villain of Doctor Strange 1 - in the comics) says “you caused an incursion, but we can fix it” is referring to him being in universe 838. She wasn’t referring to the other strange As for the Illuminati. I agree with you. But that was also the point. They were meant to be super egotistical. One of the themes of the movie is desperation, hypocrisy, and arrogance. Other multiple characters do the same actions but they’re look upon differently. The reason they killed their Stephen wasn’t a vindictive “we need to kill you for your crimes” it was more of “you’re so powerful, even though you show remorse you’ve been corrupted and we can’t trust you to keep your power”. I do agree with you though about giving people second chances. But that’s kinda the point. That the Illuminati are hypocrites and arrogant. Going back to what I said about desperation and hypocrisy. The movie also tackles the themes of previous movies such as Infinity War where it’s “in times of desperation what would you do” That’s why Wong at the end says to take America’s power. Yeah, it’s hypocritical. She’d die. And he spent the whole movie protecting her. But he saw no way to beat wanda. And in desperate times, figuring she’s gonna die either way, he’d rather Strange have that Power than Wanda. But it also shows the themes of how our Strange differs. He saw another way. He feels guilt for his decisions even if he knows it was the only option. And getting to learn from his other selves mistakes he sees that sometimes there is more than one solution even when you think there isn’t. That’s what separates him from the rest Even him using the dark hold. It was a desperate act. However despite the souls coming after him, if you think about it, the main thing that makes Dreamwalking bad is that you’re possessing someone. You take away their agency. Him doing it to someone who was already dead, was his way of doing a desperate act but not stopping to that level of actually possessing a living person Also, while we never saw a body so I’m sure she’ll be back, we’re meant to believe Wanda is dead from her sacrifice. At her core she is a good person. The dark hold corrupted her and took advantage of her grief. Didn’t make her see clearly. Her intentions were her own. The emotions she was acting from were hers. But her actions, the murder, that was manipulation. Which is why I loved her in this movie. It shows how a hero can fall after experiencing immense grief. Wanda sacrificed her kids and vision to let westview go. Because once she realized the harm she caused, she put the people over herself. This was before the dark hold. Knowing she couldn’t create her kids without a similar event, or that they wouldn’t be fully real, in desperation she turned to the dark hold. Which lead her to doing things opposite to her core beliefs. (Which is why a lot of people didn’t like this movie. They said it was out of character for her. But the way I saw it, that was the point. Her grief was real. The book took advantage of that. And did make her act “out of character”, but then when American gave her her wish, seeing the fear in her children’s eyes snapped her out of it. She saw the pain she had caused. Which is why she couldn’t just go to a different universe. She could, but morally she knew she couldn’t. So in one final act she destroyed the dark hold and sacrificed herself in the process. Knowing that with her power and emotional stability, she was too dangerous and she felt immense guilty) I think she’ll probably come back since we don’t see a body. And hopefully back to being a hero, maybe trying to atone for her mistakes. I also hope she gets therapy lol. and a good support system of friends Elizabeth Olsen did such a great job in this role. Her acting at the end when she’s just on the floor crying was so sad but so well acted I wrote a lot but I love this movie a lot so I wanted to write about it and answer some questions you had. 1.) In dimension-838, the Ultron program was a success. They’re fulfilling their true purpose and not going mad with power. 2.) The pandemic had changed the course of this movie and No Way Home. The original plan was to have this movie lead up to No Way Home. Strange would have been on bedrest recovering from using the Darkhold. Peter would still visit the sanctum, but America Chavez (or Miss America) would’ve attempted to help him and her lack of experience would’ve accidentally summoned the bad guys from their home dimensions. America would eventually be able to use her own starpower to summon Peter’s variants. Then Strange would show up fully recovered to help fix everything. Everyone still remembers Peter in the end, but Peter would also break up with Michelle. 3.) The Illuminati made their comic debut two decades ago. Just like in this movie, three of the founding members were Black Bolt, Mister Fantastic, and Professor X. Two of the other members were Doctor Strange and Iron Man. For this film, the latter two were replaced by Captain Carter and Captain Marvel. However, this version of Captain Carter is not the same one we met in What If. Also, Carol doesn’t become Captain Marvel. The mantle instead falls on her best friend Maria Rambeau. 4.) Until 2019, Marvel Studios legally (and ironically) couldn't use X-Men or even mention them or say the word "mutant" because 20th Century Fox held the film rights to them. However, after the Walt Disney company bought Fox's tv and film divisions, Marvel was able to take back the film rights to X-Men, Deadpool, and the Fantastic Four among other characters. As a result of the merger, the Fox corporation became their own thing. So they had to change the name of the tv and film studio. 20th Century Fox is now known as 20th Century Studios. 5.) The success that the X-Men cartoon had on the Fox Kids block was the reason that 20th Century Fox took a chance at creating the X-Men films to begin with. 838-Charles is visually a merger of both the animated series and the live-action films. Patrick Stewart portrayed the character again while also wearing the same suit and riding the same hoverchair as his counterpart from the cartoon. In fact, my favorite part in all of Multiverse of Madness was hearing the reorchestrated opening track to X-Men: The Animated Series when Charles arrived in his hoverchair. X-Men: The Animated Series ran for five seasons. That story continues under the name X-Men '97. Some of the original voice cast returned, and two more seasons are in production. The seventh season is currently set for next year. 6.) In other news, we have a new Fantastic Four film slated for Friday, July 25th. They’re calling it The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and the teaser trailer is available now on Marvel Entertainment’s YouTube channel. First Steps was directed by Matt Shakman, the same guy who directed all nine episodes of WandaVision. And guess what? This new version of Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic will be portrayed by none other than Pedro Pascal. And since you’ve already seen Deadpool & Wolverine as well as Stranger Things, Joseph Quinn who we know as Eddie Munson is joining the team as Johnny Storm the Human Torch. *By the way, Pedro wrapped up production on The Last of Us season 2 a few months ago. After that, he went straight to work on First Steps. We don’t have an official release date for The Last of Us season 2 quite yet, but they’re looking to premiere it in April. 7.) Black Bolt is from the Inhumans show that unfortunately didn't do so well. However, words like inhuman and terrigen are all the more reason you should check out Agents of SHIELD. Without our agents, we wouldn’t even have Daredevil. It’s seven seasons long, but the characters are what make the show enjoyable. There’s also a lot of lore to unpack. I’ll keep the big details to myself, but just so you know inhumans don’t come into play during the first season. 8.) Two final notes. First, no one really knows what happened to Wanda. Now in the event that we don’t get her back, Elizabeth Olsen got to keep the Mount Wundagore set. She has it parked in her private ranch. 9.) And finally, congratulations. You met the necessary criteria to watch Agatha All Along. You’re good to react to it whenever you wish.
