Man City, in the real world, are a pretty tough team. They recently won 4 league championships in a row .. no other football club has ever done that.

I’m know I’m months late, but I want to add a little something if you go back and rewatch season 1. Jax, you caught on to Isaac going to be the next team captain when he threw the chair into the TV…but if you watch the season closely, Roy has been clocking the leadership of Isaac in almost every episode. Such as getting his teammate to put their phone down during the movie night in Liverpool, or Isaac making space for and inviting Nate to sit on the bench with the team during a speech. It’s just one of those tiny things that makes rewatching this show so great, connecting the lines that run through it.

Yeah, "Shrinking" is great and one of my favorite things Harrison Ford has ever done. Hilarious show with some real emotional moments which was co-created and produced by Roy Kent himself (aka. Brett Goldstein).

I was out of town for 10 days and missed the last two sets of posts and just binged these last seven episode reactions and it was a perfect way to spend a rainy Sunday in Los Angeles. This is absolutely one of my favorite comfort shows, and it’s in my trifecta of “feel good “shows and I just knew that you were going to be the perfect person to react to this series. Now we just have to wait until you start season two!

So glad you are watching this. When you finish, Apple+ has another great comedy called Shrinking. A little more heavy than Ted Lasso, but still less heavy then a lot of stuff you have watched lately.

The actual relegation of a football team doesn't do anything, there is no "punishment", no team dissolve, firings, etc... but in reality, there is less money in the lower league, lower prizes, less sponsorship money, harder to acquire or keep your better players who may move to a higher ranked club, so it can be very tumultuous... PS I have no idea if any of that is a spoiler, I haven't seen S2 yet will be watching it fresh with you Jax!

relegation means you drop down to a lesser league which normally means the financial power of that team gets cut. Which is why they were saying team gets torn apart, but in does go into that much depth. loving the reactions though, really hope season 2&3 are on their way. keep up the good work.

Seems like you figured it out along the way, but in English soccer the teams that finish at the bottom get relegated into the lower league and the teams that finish at the top of the lower leagues replace them every year. It would be like if the New York Yankees finished last and then had to play in the minor leagues and earn their way back into the majors. Also the kissing your sister reference is based on a sports saying that "a tie is like kissing your sister." I have no idea if that is true or not, because I am not an athlete.... and other reasons.
