In episode 11, Dex attempts to get to Karen, Nadeem's conscience is triggered, and Fisk attempts to retrieve a special painting. I think the scene between Fisk and the new painting owner was one of my favorites this season. It was really a powerful scene.

Like I said, parts of it were definitely her fault but the people in her life at the time also deserve some of the blame.

There’s plenty of blame in Karen’s past to go around. She was a reckless junkie hanging out with the wrong crowd, her brother took it too far with burning the RV, and her father should’ve just taken her advice and sold the diner. She didn’t get locked up, but she has to live with what she did.
