Yikes! That's a pretty big financial loss.

Yeah, the story had a unique twist to it which I really enjoyed. Also, the second half was much more dialogue heavy, like you said!

Ok, I looked to see how it did when it was released and it was not popular: "The film closed on April 16, 2015 and had earned $12,429,583 in the domestic box office, with $1,173,870 overseas for a worldwide total of $13,603,453.[3] With an estimated budget of $70–$100 million.[15] Strange Magic is labeled as a box-office bomb, and resulted in losses for Disney of an estimated $40–50 million."

So, for 2/3ds of this movie I was moaning "What has Jax gotten me into?", but the reveal of Boggy Woggy as the romantic lead turned things around in a hurry. Also, they were singing less by the end.

That was Maya Rudolph! Wow, I didn't recognize her at all! Yeah, her voice must have hurt quite a bit after recording.

So, Jax, I guess it speaks to her range as an actress but it took you awhile in BH6 to realize the Aunt was voiced by Maya Rudolph. Totally understandable but you missed that she voiced ‘Griselda.’ Can you imagine how rough her throat felt after time in the recording studio? You NAILED Kristin Chenoweth, though.
