Watching this film felt like watching a piece of cinematic history. It's brilliant! The Godfather tells the story of a powerful Italian-American crime family and how they navigate a world of violence and betrayal.
Let me know if you think this is one of the greatest films ever made. Also, do you like the first or second film better?
P.S. There are sheep in this film! You know a movie is good when sheep get a cameo!

You said something akin to “This was the first time the Mafia had been looked into,” or some such. Publicly that may have been true but the most important mafioso to the Government during WWII was ‘Lucky’ Luciano. Luciano was of Italian descent and Italy was an enemy of the US. Luciano controlled the New York docks and all the workers and, by extension, the workflow through the harbors. The Government made a deal with Luciano: no prosecutions for the duration of the war in exchange for a guarantee that war material would flow unimpeded through the harbor. Both sides kept the agreement; supplies and men flowed unimpeded and Luciano wasn’t prosecuted until after the war.
