Nice one! (I just realized my initial interjection could have been read as sarcasm. My bad if misunderstood. I had the exact same thought after the reaction and was excited that I wasn’t the only one.) There’s nothing wrong with a little forgiveness now and then. Especially when the person who has done something wrong, will most likely NEVER forgive themselves.

"Historic accuracy" ignored, I dont think you understood the story of Robert the Bruce in this movie. He was raised as heir to a throne that was highly contested and as betrayal was everywhere, the only person he thought he could trust was his father. So what is he doing? at the first confrontation he just stays out of it. And why not? He has no cable TV news or anything, and uprisings come and go. He didnt know what all of this was about. When it becomes clear, that Wallace has a chance and that this situation is a turning point, he makes the mistake of trusting his father who has seen so many years of failure vs the english, that he just can't believe in victory. And He tells Robert that the best outcome of this chaos is him getting his crown and afterwards ruling the country and unite it. After the fight he understands the magnitude of his mistake and decides he will not be on the wrong side ever again. He has learned and is now preparing to support Wallace, but Wallace is on a rampage right now and not realy in the mood to talk. So he sends some guys to him and invites him to talk. He wants to cooperate and make up for missing the first opportunity. Sadly, he gets betrayed by his father. His father sells Wallace to the english and Longshanks agrees to support Roberts crown. Robert throws himself on Wallace when he is attacked, he takes the hits, he doesnt talk or anything, he is 100% in to save that man. But he cant. William is captured and taken away. Robert tells his father to go die alone in a corner and afterwards travels to London. He has no army and all motivation is lost. All he can do is take the humiliation and accept the crown thats given to him. Or so everyone thinks. But no, inspired by Williams example he asks his men for one last chance to take the freedom from the english, And they agree, they fight one last time and win. He made exactly one mistake in the entire movie and he learned from it. I dont think he has to be cursed.

Fantastic movie even if its not "Historically Accurate" its still very entertaining, also not that its a big deal but your Runtime in the description is a little off, by about 20mins.

There is a much more historically accurate account of Robert the Bruce on Netflix called 'Outlaw King' starring Chris Pine and Florence Pugh. It's spectacular. The stuff in here about Robert the Bruce betraying Wallace is utter horseshit--but, it makes a good moment for the characters (this movie is horribly inaccurate in a lot of ways...the French future queen of England was, I believe, two years old when Wallace fought the British). In truth, William Wallace definitely got the ball rolling with his victory at Stirling Bridge over the British and Kind Edward. However, it was Robert the Bruce who freed Scotland from England with the battle of Bannockburn, and got England to agree to Scotland's independence with the Treaty of Northampton. All this being said, let me be clear...I love your absolute hatred for Bruce and the Scottish nobles. In this movie's telling--yes. F*** them. And, you do you.

Ah...Braveheart. Despite this movie's incredible lack of historical accuracy (I mean, holy crap is it inaccurate), this movie is still quite the devastatingly spectacular watch. Good movies gonna good movie, I guess. Personally, I would love to see the sequel starring David O'Hara as Stephen and Brendan Gleeson as Hamish, the two of them traveling across Scotland and Ireland, just arguing with each other, and getting into bar brawls and stuff. "Two for the Road" or "Celtic C***s" or something.
