Maybe I missed it getting mentioned somewhere, but is Serenity on the schedule for any time soon? I just finished the show reaction as was surprised to not see the movie here yet.

Early really was a fantastic villain and kind of perfect for what was the series finale. Looking back at it, he was almost a prototype for the eventual villain for the movie Serenity. I'm very excited to see your reaction to that! I love the opening scene. Such a great visual way of showing how River's mind weaves through the ship and how she hears/sees/experiences everything. We had to really wait, but when Summer Glau was able to really perform, she really shined in a big way! I always get sad too when I finish the series. I got my parents into the show too. My mom overheard me watching the show and she thought it sounded interesting so she watched it with me and that resulted in my dad watching it with us!

[Darn, was that out loud?] Note that this is the second time (after Ep 3) we see how happy River is when in space. Less intrusive thoughts for the "reader"? I hardly think Mal giving a middle finger to the Alliance can serve as an element of the movie. Surely he will have grown past that by then! I will lazily assume that the exchange at 14:17 was inspired by the following blooper from Ep 5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mve-E23trk&t=429s (I can hardly blame them for wanting to burn her at the stake*!) * Whether horse-sourced or not. :-P
