I'm so tired of people who think reactors can only watch series with a couple of seasons. I haven't even watched either of these series and care nothing about them, but the fact that they are longer is not a reason to disqualify them.

Since none of the shows I requested (Surprise!) made the poll, it comes down to Firefly and BoB. Both are over done reaction wise, but I went with BoB because I haven't seen as many reactions to it lately.

Any of these would be great but I usually vote for stuff that isn't such a commitment. I love Community but asking a reactor to do it is a major commitment on their part considering it has 5 seasons and the first three seasons are 20+ episode seasons is a lot.

All good shows imo. I'll be happy to watch along no matter which wins. in my perfect world tho... I'd pick community because it's just so much fun.

I think it's, unfortunately, a case of people not knowing what they're missing! Syfy did a terrible job marketing when it was on cable and Amazon only kinda marketed it but it was 3 seasons in. One day, it'll get the recognition it deserves!

For whatever it's worth, Jax, you will absolutely adore Ted Lasso. The sheer positivity and human warmth in that show is a balm, every time you watch it. It's 'Chicken Soup for the Soul' in audio/visual form. It's also hilarious, moving and inspiring. I hope it wins and, even if it doesn't, I promise you absolutely will not regret adding it to the queue.

I ended up voting for Ted Lasso, but it was tough to choose between that one and Firefly. I left it at Ted Lasso because Firefly was currently in front and I was hoping Ted lasso would be second haha If Firefly does end up winning, just make sure its watched in the right order. I know the original aired date of the episodes was messed up because the broadcast channel was bad at its job. Definitely find the best order to watch it in. I myself watch it in the order from wikipedia list, but that's probably the default from the DVDs.

Most of the main cast was in the MCU in various small roles, and the rest have all done Marvel projects except Chevy Chase. Joel McHale was in Spider-Man 2, Allison Brie was in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur and was on Marvel 616, and Gillian Jacobs was on Marvel 616. And of course several actors with smaller roles on Community have substantial roles in the MCU, like Brie Larson, Kumail Nanjiani, Randall Park, and Martin Starr. The crossover between Community and Marvel is pretty staggering.

I have to agree. There are a lot of great shows in the poll, but Ted Lasso is a perfect fit for Jax.

And it means if you're someone, like me, who has seen Community to death and isn't looking for a re-watch, that whelp guess I'll check back in 10 months when she's finished. Super long shows should be few and far between because they're such a commitment.

Community is 110 ~22-min episodes, Expanse is 62 ~45 min episodes, either way quite a commitment.

Absolutely mine. But also, I would suspect longer shows require a lot more effort all around. And really how many multi-season shows manage to maintain quality all the way through their run?

I recommended Ted Lasso and completely forgot about Community, which ended up taking my vote. It's such a good and fun sitcom, it will not disappoint. Ted Lasso won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series for it's first two season, with the third to be determined. So you can't go wrong with either of these two shows.

For reaction purposes I would ranks these shows: Firefly (short run, great characters, large fanbase + movie) - Band of Brothers (intense true story, moving, short run, different than most shows) - The Expanse (Perhaps the best sci-fi adaptation of all time, amazing characters, lots of 'oh s**t' reaction moments....but it is long) - Community (A classic comedy, paint ball, Donald Glover, long but only 30 minute eps...did struggle slightly towards later seasons) - Reacher ( Short run, still active, a decent but not amazing adaptation of the books...Tom Cruise was a better reacher despite having a very different physical build as the character...it's a fine show, nothing great, nothing bad. Can watch related movies) - Ted Lasso (A heart-warming and great first season arguably peaking at a dart board, gives way to an OK second season before finally collapsing under the weight of it's premise and becoming neither funny nor heart warming, despite the actors giving it their best. I'd rank it higher if you just did one season)

True, but that's network TV seasons vs. cable/Amazon seasons. I think Community has almost double the episode count.

Ted Lasso really surprised me. I was not prepared for a show without cynicism. It might serve as a palette cleanser of a show and I do think the positivity of the show is in Jax’s wheelhouse. Community is also one of the best comedies ever particularly the Dan Harmon years. As others have said lots of MCU actors were on Community not to mention the Russo Brothers directed a lot of episodes.

While I do hope you get to Firefly at some point, I think Ted Lasso is the choice here. It’s very different from both MCU and Stranger Things, and I think the humor and heart are right up your alley.

Community! Let's go!!! Hey Jax, a lot of the actors on Community were in the MCU. It was directed by the Russo brothers who also directed a lot of the MCU films and Arrested Development. I think you'll enjoy it.

The Expanse may not be as widely popular as Ted Lasso, but it’s the greatest, most scientifically accurate and realistic space drama of our time. The writing is smart, the characters deeply compelling. The books the show is based on are incredible. The show adapts them in a way that pleases the book fans. I hope more people give it a chance.
