When she got the ability to shape-shift after being given a corporeal form by Ellaine, I think she just does it because she can... however in the present day, she doesn't shift forms as much Melinda likes the Maid form, the reason will be revealed in part 2 or 3 of this memory log

The ghost has been around since before Ellaine was even born, and she doesn't age, she just changes her appearance based on what she sees as for the haunting, not everyone experiences her presence, mostly people with decent spiritual aptitude (High WIS people)

Do we know how old the spirit was when it became a spirit & how long it was haunting the place? Or has it really only aged since being Melinda?
