WIP Wednesday! Some Character Art
🕑 Added 2021-08-11 16:00:06 +0000 UTCI am doing some character art for a friend and supporter who liked my stuff from Way Back When; back when I was doing furry stuff. He really liked the old "Empires: The Ace of Spades" story and thought up a character set in that universe so I am working on "LT. Rhein", a commander on a T-89 mobile assault gun. The T-89 is a derivative of the T-88 tank chassis that was featured prominently in the story; the T-89 itself was shown in the "Iriesii Manifest" sourcebook I posted awhile back.
Above is the original sketch I did of the character himself, LT. Rhein; the below sketch is where I am filling out the background (in pencil so far). I am doing this one "old school" style, with pencil and ink on Strathmore 90-lb. Bristol Smooth paper. It's kinda fun to go back and do something the way I did back then, and it reminds me of how far things have come now that I do most of my work digitally.
The end result will be black and white line art, and a digitally colored version.
The vehicle is "riding low" on its gravs because it is parked, making it easier to hop on & off and to hide for short stops. During travel it usually rides a bit higher for ground clearance.
