The next morning.
Kaito got up early and started cooking for Blue.
After finishing, he took out two eggs from the refrigerator and confirmed their authenticity through "happiness", and then solemnly placed the two eggs on the table.
"Mm-hmm~ perfect."
"Blue~~get up and eat."
"Quack~ ('-ω)"
Kaito stuck his head into the bedroom and saw the little frog, still a little dazed, rubbing his eyes, then staggering to his feet.
Kaito walked forward and picked him up with some concern, to prevent the little guy from falling off the bed.
Putting Blue in front of the dining table, Kaito saw that he still looked a little sleepy. He didn't plan to say anything more. He picked up the 'lucky egg' and stuffed it directly into the little frog's mouth.
Blue was half asleep and half awake, and he subconsciously ate the "lucky egg", smacking his lips a few times as if he was still not satisfied.
The next moment, the whole frog suddenly woke up, and the fatigue on his face faded away visibly.
Then, an expression of happiness involuntarily appeared on the little frog's face, as if he was about to take off in the next second.
It's a completely common expression among judges of food anime.
"Quack~ (▽)"
"Hmm, it looks like the effect is pretty good. Although it's not as glowing as the 'boiled egg' I made, it's still a rare delicacy."
Seeing how powerful the 'Lucky Egg' was, Kaito shamelessly boasted about his new skills.
After a while, Blue came out of his happy state and looked at the boiled egg in front of Kaito's dining table with stars in his eyes.
"Um, this is not the same kind of egg as yours. There is only one of that kind of egg just now."
Kaito didn't want the little frog to be too disappointed after eating it, so he had to explain it truthfully.
However.
"Quack! (.ˇェˇ)"
"What's that look in your eyes?! You don't even believe what I said!"
"Here you go, try it yourself."
After Kaito finished speaking, he handed the white "boiled egg" to Blue with some disgust.
The little frog first quickly grabbed the 'boiled egg', but did not put it into his mouth immediately.
Instead, he looked at the 'boiled egg' in his hand with some confusion, and then looked at Kaito who was sitting opposite him.
His eyes kept darting back and forth, but he still couldn't make up his mind to eat the 'boiled egg'.
Just when Kaito was wondering whether Blue had already sensed that the two eggs were different.
Blue held the boiled egg in his two little hands and came back to Kaito.
However, the frog no longer had the conflicted look on his face. Instead, he looked as if he had eaten another "lucky egg" and a look of happiness appeared on his face again.
Kaito was stunned for a moment, then Blue took the 'boiled egg' and quickly put it into Kaito's mouth.
And just like Blue before, Kaito eyes curved into crescents and a very happy smile appeared on his face.
The man and the frog happily finished the entire breakfast.
It was not until he was about to go out and saw Blue, who was carrying his small package and waiting for Kaito to go to the training ground and then summon him there, that he remembered that he seemed to have forgotten something while eating.
"Well, son, I have to go out to carry out Anbu missions in the next few days, so you should practice well at home."
"Hey, don't be angry. If I encounter a battle, I will definitely summon you there immediately."
After rubbing Blue's little head and calming his emotions, Kaito said goodbye again and hurried towards the village gate.
However, Kaito hesitated for a moment on the way and decided that unless there were special circumstances, he would not summon Blue to accompany him in battle for the time being.
After all, although the effect of the 'Lucky Egg' was not explained to the little guy, based on Blue's previous efforts, his strength will definitely increase rapidly during this period.
Kaito also felt that it would be better not to interrupt Blue's practice as much as possible.
After arriving at the gate of the Kirigakure Village, Kaito looked around and did not see Fuku.
But the next moment.
“Shua—”
Fuku, carrying his luggage, instantly appeared beside Kaito.
‘My goodness, this is a typical ANBU style.’
Even though he thought so, Kaito still greeted him.
"Captain Fuku, sorry to have kept you waiting."
"You don't have to be sorry since there still time before the meet up time, but since you're here we should go."
Without saying anything more, the two of them quickly left the Kirigakure Village and headed towards the front line.
Fuku is not a passionate person. Except in front of Utakata, it is rare for Kaito to see him do anything that is not in line with the style of the Anbu.
Of course, it is also possible that one simply subconsciously changes one’s behavior patterns when wearing a mask.
However, this is Kaito's first time to officially leave the village to carry out an Anbu mission, so he still needs to have some understanding of the subsequent intelligence.
So he just started asking while they were on the way.
"Captain Fuku, what kind of mission are we going to perform at the front line this time?"
Perhaps because of the frequent contacts during this period, Fuku had some understanding of Kaito's personality, but he did not say anything like "the Anbu only need to follow orders when carrying out a mission."
Instead, he went straight to the point and explained the next task to Kaito.
"Although our Anbu members have been transferred to the front line for support, they are still directly under the command of the Third Mizukage-sama. In the absence of special orders, they can choose whether to accept the management of the front-line headquarters."
"We just need to follow the established plan before leaving the village, find out the later routes and military situation of Konohagakure Village, and whether there are any ninjas marked in the Anbu manual near the front line, and report back to the village or the front-line headquarters in time."
Upon hearing this, Kaito nodded thoughtfully.
Although he had no way of evaluating whether this arrangement was reasonable or whether it would have some inefficiencies.
But after all, he is now also an ANBU member, and he understands that the Mizukage's control over the ANBU is the basis of everything.
It seems that Suikazan Fuguki was able to easily mobilize the Anbu on duty because of his dual identities as a front-line commander and the Anbu commander.
However, this "self-selection" is somewhat intriguing.
"So what counts as a special situation? What if we encounter a fight between Konohagakure and the village's ninja? Do we need to intervene?"
"As long as it does not affect the Anbu mission, there is no need to ask."
Really.
It was similar to what Kaito thought, it was indeed a department completely independent of the normal ninja system.
However, as if he had thought of something, Fuku finally hesitated and added a sentence.
"If you judge that the situation will seriously threaten the safety of the village, you can decide whether to take action."
Kaito looked at Fuku's back in confusion.
‘Another decision by yourself? Do the Anbu have such a high degree of autonomy??‘
"But Captain, your hesitant tone makes me panic!"
