Because the original mission of these Kirigakure Anbu members was to sow discord between the Wind and Fire countries.
So not all of them are wearing Kirigakure ANBU uniforms.
These people were wearing all kinds of equipment, some were dressed like Konohagakure ninjas, and some were dressed like Sunagakure Village ninjas.
This made Kaito focus his attention on these Kirigakure Ninjas who were not wearing masks at the beginning.
Even those people from Sunagakure were given a few more glances by Kaito.
Only after a thorough inspection did he start to observe the few people wearing Kirigakure ANBU equipment.
However, Kaito found two familiar faces among these masked Anbu people.
Although the standard equipment of the Anbu is the same, they also wear masks.
But in fact, it is mainly just a cover-up in front of outsiders. If you really meet an acquaintance, your identity can still be recognized at a glance.
"Depend on!"
There was no time to think about it, as he saw that two of his acquaintances had been forced into a corner by several Sunagakure Ninjas and their lives were hanging by a thread.
Kaito didn't care about the mission requirements anymore. He just put his arms together and jumped off the cliff.
He dived towards the two people who were being besieged.
Just when it seemed that Kaito was about to fall straight to the ground.
Chakra wings quickly spread out behind him.
Then, with a "pong" sound, the rising airflow was caught.
In an instant, the rapid decline of Kaito was stopped.
That’s not all. After the chakra wings wrapped the airflow, Kaito used all his strength to flap the chakra wings behind him.
The violent wind force, comparable to that of wind-style ninjutsu, instantly blew away the ninjas right below where he landed.
A small number of weaker ninjas were even blown several meters away by the strong wind.
Even the two acquaintances of Kaito who he came to rescue were blown directly against the rock wall they were leaning against by the strong wind.
With such a good opportunity, Kaito was naturally not satisfied with just interrupting the enemy's offensive.
After landing, Kaito did not stop.
He leaned over and drew out the Shinsō from behind, half-crouched and turned quickly on the spot, drawing a bright white light in the air.
"Shinsō: Cut"
In an instant, the sounds of sharp blades entering flesh became continuous, and all the Sunagakure Ninjas that had come to attack were wiped out.
The short sword was sheathed.
Only then did Kaito remember to look back.
Well, the two people he rescued just happened to fall down from the rock wall they were clinging to.
"Perfect~"
However, because Kaito's entry was quite loud, many Sunagakure Ninjas who were fighting elsewhere noticed this direction.
Some people simply gave up on besieging other members of the Kirigakure Anbu and rushed towards Kaito.
Without time for greeting, Kaito immediately rushed to the two men and picked them up one by one.
He flew into the air again.
"Where did this person come from?"
"Leave them!"
Seeing Kaito rescue the two people, the Sunagakure Ninjas who surrounded them threw a large number of shurikens into the air unwillingly.
However, this kind of attack couldn't even reach Kaito's tail gas, and they could only watch them fly away with hatred.
Only after returning to the top of the cliff did Kaito let go of the two people in his hands.
To be fair, it was a bit difficult to fly with two people at a time, so Kaito did not fly too far.
The two people who had just come to their senses at this time looked at Kaito who saved them with lingering fear.
He hesitated for a moment before asking.
"You are. Kaito?"
"Who else could it be?"
Kaito took off the ANBU mask speechlessly and looked at Hozuki Shingetsu and Yuka Tamura.
That’s right, the two people rescued by Kaito were from Team Ken.
However, at this time, both of them were dressed in Anbu attire, and it was obvious that they had joined the Anbu at some point.
The two looked at each other and took off their masks as well.
Hozuki Shingetsu asked with a puzzled look on his face.
"Kaito, when did you join the ANBU?"
In fact, when Kaito used the Shinsō before, the two had already recognized his identity.
However, this unprecedented flying ninjutsu and the ability to kill more than a dozen ninjas in an instant made the usually lively Hozuki Shingetsu a little hesitant to recognize the other party.
But now the masks have been taken off, it’s impossible that it’s someone else pretending to be him.
Kaito looked at the two of them and rolled his eyes.
"I was just wondering why you guys joined the ANBU."
These two people are not much older than himself, but they also quietly joined the Anbu and were sent to carry out this high-risk mission.
Moreover, he is quite famous in Anbu. Although he has not been a member for a long time, his reputation is basically earned through hard work.
These two guys don't even know him.
"After Captain Ken's death, Azusa chose to transfer to the second line. We were waiting for the village to reallocate the team, but what we got was a summons from the Third Mizukage-sama."
"Well, it might not be a bad thing for Azusa to go to the second line."
Azusa is older than Shingetsu and Tamura, so he can transfer to become a Sensei in the ninja school or a logistics staff.
It is also a good way out for civilian ninjas.
However, in this kind of war period, if you voluntarily apply to retreat to the second line, you will probably face a lot of criticism in the future.
"Kaito, why are you here? I remember you weren't there when we set out."
Yuka Tamura, who was standing by, saw that the two were still talking and he started sweating with anxiety.
You know, the cliff where the three people were standing was not far from the battlefield below.
Even now one can still clearly hear the sounds of fierce fighting below, and these two actually have the leisure to chat here.
Yuka Tamura, who was not good at speaking, had no idea how to interrupt the two people who were chatting enthusiastically, and could only stand by and worry.
But what he didn't know was that Kaito's mission didn't require rescue at all.
If he hadn't seen the two of them present, Kaito wouldn't even have needed to show up. He could have just kept an eye on the movements of Sunagakure.
In other words, Kaito does not take the rules of the Anbu seriously. If it were any other Anbu ninja, even if all the Kirigakure troops below were killed, they would just continue to monitor secretly with indifference.
Perhaps he saw Tamura's anxiety.
Kaito explained with a smile.
"The village has already sent a large force to support us. What we need to do now is to keep a close eye on these people from Sunagakure and make sure that the reinforcements can't find them when they arrive."
However, Kaito had just finished speaking when the smile on his face disappeared instantly.
He pushed the two people in front of him away, and at the same time, used the reaction force to leap backwards quickly.
The next moment, several red fireballs shot towards the place where the three people had just stood.
Before Shingetsu and Tamura could be thankful, they were rescued by Kaito again.
They saw that the blazing red fireball that was clearly coming at them at high speed suddenly changed direction just before hitting the ground, and quickly dispersed to attack the three people respectively.
The attack doesn't end there!
