Three days later, in an abandoned village on the border of the Land of Water.
A burly ANBU squatted down and examined the still warm ashes in the abandoned house.
"Captain, that bastard has been gone for no more than two hours."
Fuku didn't pay any attention to his subordinates' impatience, but instead turned his attention to another ANBU wearing a shark-tooth mask.
Having been misled by the other party's forged traces several times before, Fuku had to be cautious at this time.
When the other party saw Fuku's gaze, he immediately understood and spoke directly.
"You can use it again in 10 minutes."
Fuku nodded upon hearing this and gave the order.
"Ok, let's rest here, we will continue on our journey in 10 minutes."
After hearing the captain's order, everyone began to take a short break to recover, but a depressing atmosphere still spread among the pursuit team.
Of the nine ANBU who set out, only six were left.
As for the three missing people.
It's funny to say that the last time a Chunin tracked down a village, he discovered traces of the enemy.
Everyone immediately divided into groups to search, and they thought that a group of three was already a sign of taking the attacker very seriously.
As a result, all three Anbu in the group were killed by the enemy's sneak attack.
What made these Anbu even more ashamed was when their teammates were killed by the enemy.
The other people who rushed over after hearing the noise didn't even get to touch the attacker's clothes before the attacker escaped again.
As the most elite ninjas in the Kirigakure Village, they repeatedly let the enemy escape, and some were even killed by the enemy, they still couldn't find the trace of the enemy.
This made the Anbu ninjas, who were a little arrogant before setting out, feel angry.
Besides, hunting down the person who attacked the Jinchūriki was the mission assigned by the Third Mizukage. If they returned empty-handed, they would not be able to stay in the Kirigakure Village.
Although Kaito has many abilities, he has no ability that can help him to pursue them. At this time, he can only follow the main force and obey orders.
Kaito, who sat down to rest, looked at the shark-tooth masked ANBU who had just spoken.
After working together for the past few days, Kaito has gained a general understanding of this Anbu.
This guy's code name is 'Shark'.
After so many days of pursuit, he has not completely lost the enemy's trail thanks to his abnormal tracking ability.
As the ace of the Anbu's pursuit ninja team, Shark had previously been assigned to guard the Six-Tails Jinchuriki Utakata.
Relying on its special electromagnetic induction ability, it can continuously lock the marked target and sense the direction of the locked target at regular intervals.
The top leaders of the Kirigakure Village placed him in the nameless valley out of fear of losing the Jinchūriki.
It's just that this time, when the enemy attacked, Shark marked the opponent with his ability similar to the hunter's mark.
This prevented the pursuit from failing due to the opponent's cunning and clever disguise.
In fact, the difficulty of the enemy this time was somewhat beyond Kaito's expectations.
There was only one enemy who actually sneaked into the nameless valley in three days and attempted to get close to the tailed beast.
However, the opponent managed to escape many times with his sophisticated camouflage techniques, and was always roaming around the Land of Water, and was even able to counterattack.
It was Kaito who was responsible for dealing with the bodies of the three dead Anbu.
All three were killed by a single heavy punch. One of them had his sternum completely collapsed, and the other two were attacked from behind, with their entire bodies shot through.
If there were no signs of lightning burns on the corpse, Kaito would even suspect that it was an act of revenge carried out by Ai from the Kumogakure Village.
You know, there are very few ninjas in the entire ninja world who can achieve this kind of effect with Taijutsu.
The 10 minutes passed quickly.
Everyone immediately turned their eyes to the shark whose nose moved slightly.
Shark suddenly opened his eyes and pointed his finger at a forest in the distance.
"West! The enemy is moving quickly, approaching the coastline!"
Everyone immediately realized that the enemy must be trying to escape by sea.
Upon hearing this, Fuku immediately ordered: "Chase!"
The six Anbu immediately set off and chased in the direction Shark pointed.
They didn't advance for too long before they discovered traces of the enemy's escape in the woods.
It’s not that several people were rushing at full speed and had the energy to search for traces carefully.
But at this moment, a straight path suddenly appeared in the dense forest.
The front looked as if it had been run over by a mad wild boar. Large tracts of trees had fallen, and dirt and grass had been blown everywhere.
Fuku, who was leading the way in the front, kept walking and reminded them loudly.
"It seems that the other party is no longer planning to hide! Everyone go at full speed ahead and capture this man!"
"Yes!" x5
Following Fuku's order, all the pursuit members accelerated again and rushed at full speed along the path opened by the enemy.
However, Kaito, who also accelerated along with his teammates, was secretly on high alert.
At this time, everyone was already very close to the border of the Land of Water.
Although it is possible that the enemy discovered that the Anbu behind him were approaching, he had no choice but to run away with all his might.
But why does this person think that he can escape the pursuit of these Kirigakure Ninjas by running to the sea?
The last time he chased Yakushi Nono, he was ambushed by Konoha. He still remembers it very clearly.
"Captain! Right in front!"
Since the pursuit team had already reached the edge of the forest, there was basically no obstruction ahead.
Kaito, who possesses the "Keen Eye", can already see a figure running wildly in the distance.
The opponent's rather burly figure, and the fact that every time he stepped on the ground while running wildly, he created a large pit, seemed to prove everyone's previous speculation that he was a master of Taijutsu.
'Why does this figure's outfit look familiar?'
No matter what Kaito thought, when they heard that the enemy was just ahead, everyone was ready for battle.
Then, just as the Anbu members were chasing the fleeing enemy to a cliff.
The opponent suddenly turned around to face everyone, grabbed the ground with his claws, and used his limbs to stop his steps.
After leaving four long traces on the ground, it finally stopped at the edge of the cliff.
The six ANBU, including Kaito, dispersed tacitly and surrounded the man on the edge of the steep cliff.
However, before the team leader Fuku could step forward and say a few polite words, the burly man in front of him suddenly shrank slowly.
The previous second, he was a muscular, big man like Shimotsuki Ichiro.
The next moment, the muscles on his body that were about to burst through his clothes disappeared, and he turned into a white-haired old man who looked somewhat elegant.
Kaito looked at the man in a daze.
If he had only felt that the other party's outfit was somewhat familiar before, when he saw the ability to urinate and defecate anywhere, Kaito immediately recognized the other party's identity.
He is the villain boss who calls himself Shinnō in the original movie version.
As one of the few Naruto theatrical versions that he has watched, Kaito has a deep impression of this guy.
Because he watched the movie version after watching Shippuden in his previous life.
Whether it was the Sky Ninja, the Zero Tail, or the other party's claim that he could open all eight gates without getting hurt, they all completely overturned his perception at the time.
But what Kaito couldn’t understand was why the other party dared to come to the Kirigakure Village to provoke the Six-Tails Jinchuriki?
