"Are those lunatics who believe in Jashin again?"
In a rage, Ai smashed the table in front of him with one punch, sending wood chips and debris flying everywhere.
Not long after receiving the news of the Kumogakure troops entering the territory of the Land of Hot Water, civilians from the Land of Hot Water began to appear one after another and attack the Kumogakure ninjas who were scattered and investigating.
At first, Ai didn't care about these things at all. Even if a hundred civilians surrounded a Genin, they wouldn't be able to kill the Genin.
As long as enough of these rioters from the Land of Hot Water die, no one will dare to cause trouble for the Kumogakure Troops.
However, the development of the matter was beyond the expectations of all Kumogakure Ninjas.
This was indeed the case at first. After suffering heavy casualties and failing to achieve any results, the resistance organization in the Land of Hot Water disappeared for several days.
The ninjas of Kumogakure Village also thought that the matter would end like this, so they began to search for their mission targets with peace of mind.
However, starting from one day, several female Kumogakure ninjas suddenly began to suffer inexplicable wounds one after another. Later, these people were seriously injured and died even under the heavy protection of other ninjas.
For a moment, all Kumogakure Ninjas were in a panic.
After a few days of calm, the resistance organization in the Land of Hot Water began suicide attacks on the scattered Kumogakure ninjas.
And a small number of ninjas were also inexplicably injured and died after being attacked.
It was not until more than a dozen Kumogakure ninjas died in succession that Ai and others discovered that this strange assassination seemed to require the Kumogakure ninjas to be injured and their blood to be drawn.
Kumogakure Ninja immediately suspended the mission and focused on searching for the civilians who were tracking and attacking. Eventually, they destroyed several secret bases of the resistance organization before they figured out what was going on.
Previously, an evil cult in the Land of Hot Water contacted the resistance organization. As long as they sincerely believed in the Jashin, they might be able to master a secret curse technique.
This secret technique requires only the blood of the enemy, drawing a ritual circle and praying sincerely to the Jashin, and the opponent will suffer the same injuries as oneself.
Although only a small number of people in the resistance organization mastered this secret technique and wanted to kill the Kumogakure ninjas, these believers who mastered the secret technique would also lose their lives.
However, even so, these increasingly fanatical evil lunatics and the civilians who hated the invasion of Kumogakure troops were still willing to sacrifice a large amount of blood and then use the life of a person who mastered the secret technique to kill the Kumogakure ninja.
Fortunately, after several days of continuous searching and tracking, and after destroying a large number of resistance organizations' strongholds, these people disappeared again.
But Ai didn't expect that after such a short period of time, the other party would appear again to attack Kumogakure Ninjas, and even had the strength to wipe out a search team led by a senior Jōnin ninja.
Just when Ai was still thinking about whether to suspend the mission again and purge another wave of the Jashin Cult.
The communication ninja, who had just recovered from Ai's furious banging on the table, spoke cautiously.
"That, Ai-sama, this time it doesn't seem to be the work of those evil lunatics."
Ai stopped thinking about the Jashin cult upon hearing this, his eyes fixed on the ninja in front of him.
The ninja who discovered that something was wrong also knew that because he had been slow in providing the information, Ai-sama was unable to understand the complete information.
He immediately spilled all the information.
"The search team near Valley Town went to the scene after seeing the distress signal. Judging from the traces left at the scene, the 15 people led by Jonin Raiza seemed to have had a conflict with ninjas from other countries."
"The traces left at the scene show a lot of traces of ninjutsu. Although there are also Earth Style and Wind Style, there are more traces of Water Style Ninjutsu."
"In addition, our investigation in Valley Town also revealed that eight people dressed as samurai entered the town before. From the description, there were two adults and six teenagers, which seemed to be the configuration of two standard ninja teams."
After quickly speaking out a series of information, Kumogakure Ninja immediately lowered his head and closed his mouth, not daring to look at Ai's face, for fear that he would end up like the table just now.
However, someone present did not seem to notice the awkward atmosphere.
"Yo~ Yo~ Look at my brother making a fool of himself~ It's my turn to take action~"
"Boom--"
After a loud bang, Ai slowly lowered his stretched left leg.
The communication ninja stared in amazement at the big hole that appeared in the wall in an instant, and Killer Bee's figure gradually flew away. He couldn't close his mouth for a long time.
Ai looked at the communication ninja and said as if nothing had happened.
"I understand. Notify all teams to pay attention to the movements of the eight suspected individuals. Release flares as soon as you find them and notify me directly."
"Uh, okay! Ai-sama! I'll go and notify them right away!"
After saying this, the ninja walked away tremblingly.
Ai was left alone, thinking in this leaky room.
"Water-style ninjutsu? Could it be Kirigakure? Or is it a disguised ninja from Konohagakure who came to rescue?"
Regardless of how suspicious Ai was when he received the news.
Kaito and his group stumbled into the mountain range at the border between the Land of Hot Water and the Land of Fire.
Thanks to Ao's Perception Ninjutsu, he was able to evade the ninja team from Kumogakure Village several times.
However, after entering the mountains, Ao finally couldn't hold on any longer.
The consumption of both chakra and mental energy when using the Perception Ninjutsu for a long time is enormous. Being able to persist for so long is enough for Ao to brag among the perception ninjas.
"Ao-sensei, you should take a rest first."
Seeing Ao's face starting to turn pale, Mei worriedly spoke to him.
Kaito also hurriedly took out a handful of special Military Ration Pills from his ninja tool bag and stuffed them into Ao's hands.
"Ao-sensei, take some medicine. No, take some Military Ration Pills. They are specially made by me and have no side effects."
After returning to the village from the front line, Kaito received several B-rank and A-rank mission rewards at one time, which filled Kaito's wallet a little.
At the first opportunity, he made some things with system formulas that worked well for his own restoration.
However, for PP Up Military Ration Pills he still chose the original version.
Because the price-performance ratio is too high. The only drawback is that they have to eat a large handful every time.
After seeing that Ao's face had regained some of its rosiness, everyone didn't dare to stay outside the mountain range for long and set off again.
After walking for a while, Ao looked at the sky and thought about letting everyone rest for a while.
However, a noise came from the dense forest deep in the mountains ahead. As the sound got closer, the eight people slowed down and became alert.
Ao forced himself to perform the perception ninjutsu again, but he looked strange and spoke to everyone in an uncertain tone.
"It seems like a group of people are besieging three ninjas? A group of ordinary people!"
Ao emphasized it at the end.
But at this time, others could barely hear the sounds from the battlefield.
"Quick! Use the grappling hook to entangle them!"
"Go forward! Kill all these ninjas who are harming the Land of Hot Water!"
"Don't be afraid! Jashin-sama is protecting us! Sacrifice them all to Jashin-sama!"
