In the battle between Yoshitaka and his group and the samurai, the once magnificent Daimyo Mansion had already fallen into ruin.
But at this moment, whether it was the warriors or the demons, in everyone's eyes, the surrounding ruins were covered with a layer of unclear black fog, and the visibility in front of them was only a few meters.
The feeling of fear gradually surged in people's hearts. No one dared to act rashly in such an environment, otherwise they would not know whether they were killed by their companions or died at the hands of the enemy.
Unfortunately, although the black fog obscured the demons’ vision and even their voices seemed to be muffled by the fog, their keen sense of smell and intuition, like those of wild animals, were their best compass.
The smell of the warriors was extremely clear to them, and the unique smell of their companions was even more familiar to them. This situation of being unable to see allowed this group of demons to regain their silent characteristics and advantages in the dark.
So, after just a brief pause, dozens of demons focused their sense of smell and instantly pounced on the source of the warrior's smell.
For a moment, screams and wails were blended into the noisy and chaotic sound of rain.
Puff! !
Near the center of the black fog, Mifune swung his sword without looking back, slashing at the black shadow behind him.
The severed head rolled down and hit the ground with a dull thud, and at the same time there was the crisp sound of armor hitting the ground.
——That was just a samurai who rushed into Mifune’s guard area in a panic.
"…Ninjutsu? The Hidden Mist Technique?"
Mifune's brows gradually furrowed, and the scar on his forehead became more ferocious. His eyes were like those of a ferocious beast, cutting through the black fog that was lurking in front of his eyes.
No, this is not the Mist Hidden Technique, and he will not give Yoshitaka the opportunity to cast a seal.
Is that a non-seal ninjutsu? It can't be a sword technique, right?
Suddenly, as if he realized something, Mifune's face changed slightly, and he quickly checked his meridians.
This black mist being inhaled into the body will actually corrode the chakra? !
Realizing this, Mifune slowed down his breathing and forced himself to suppress the uneasiness in his heart.
He spread his feet slightly apart, slowly raised the sword above his head, with the blade facing forward. His eyes passed over the blade and cut through the black fog in front of him. His clothes were blown up by the wind in the rain, and at the same time, he closed his eyes.
He knew very well that vision was useless in this environment. Closing his eyes would make the five senses other than vision clearer.
Snap…Snap…
He stepped on the flooded ground, moving his feet slightly as he looked around alertly, making a slight splashing sound.
He could not sense any murderous intent in the black fog, and a figure might jump out and attack him at any time, but Mifune's steps were still steady, and his awareness as a swordsman had spread to the surrounding area for several meters.
Even if someone really jumped out of the shadows and slashed at him the next moment, it would definitely not be him who was cut in half.
"Yoshitaka."
Suddenly, Mifune tightened his grip on the sword in his hand and said for no apparent reason, "I know you can hear me. Do you think you are worthy of being called a swordsman with such despicable means?"
As the words came out, Mifune stopped and focused on his auditory perception.
If Yoshitaka did not intend to respond to him, then he would still be helpless and could only stand here, waiting for him to make a move and passively fight back.
If Yoshitaka responded...
‘Then this battle will be over very quickly.’
The moment this thought came to his mind, a voice sounded.
"Mifune, have you read Musashi's "Hyoudo Mirror" and "The Book of Five Rings"?"
Yoshitaka's voice seemed to come from all directions.
Mifune's brows were slightly wrinkled, his eyes flickered, and while he was searching for the source of the voice, he continued, "My teacher was once defeated by Musashi's 'Niten Ichiryu', so I naturally understand Musashi's swordsmanship philosophy."
"The Book of Five Rings" and “Hyoudo Mirror" are works of Musashi, the former is a "book on military strategy" and the latter is a "book on swordsmanship".
Amegakure's assassination technique was modified on this basis, and Mifune naturally also studied and practiced the concepts therein.
"In that case, which do you think is more important, the Book of Five Rings or the Hyoudo Mirror?"
Yoshitaka's voice came again. Mifune's searching eyes paused, and stayed in the front and left direction, and said, "Of course, Hyoudo Mirror is more important."
His vision was not able to see in this environment, but he still locked onto Yoshitaka's position, perhaps relying on sound or intuition.
"Sure enough, in your eyes, swordsmanship is more important than military tactics." Yoshitaka said with a smile in his tone.
Mifune narrowed his eyes, fixed his gaze in that direction, and deliberately asked, "Do you think that learning the military tactics and using those despicable means can make up for the gap in swordsmanship?"
"Yes, the key to kendo lies in the basics, the steps, the postures, the moves. Practice diligently for fifty years. Unfortunately, for people like us fifty years is too long, so..."
At this point, Yoshitaka's voice paused, and his tone suddenly turned cold:
"We have to seize the day!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the short sword slashed out silently from the black fog, drawing an arc thinner than a stream of rain.
Not in front, but behind.
Long before the words came out of Yoshitaka's mouth, the short sword was already behind Mifune.
Rain Breathing: Fourth Form: Silently Wetting Everything!
Yoshitaka's sword, full of murderous intent, had a speed that seemed to have broken through the limit.
The short sword created a wind barrier at high speed, and rolled up rain and mist, splashing towards Mifune!
At this speed, any other ninja, even an elite jonin from a great country, would be beheaded if he was caught off guard.
However, Mifune is not a ninja, but a swordsman. It can even be said that he is the strongest swordsman in the entire ninja world.
The moment the words fell, Mifune moved without hesitation.
He saw the black blade coming towards him with white mist and flowing air, so he gently turned sideways with a tiny movement to avoid the sword's path.
The short sword almost passed across his neck, and the famous sword Kurosawa in his hand cut from bottom to top, trying to use the momentum to cut off the arm stretched out from the black mist.
But at this moment, a creepy feeling surged into Mifune's heart, and instantly all the hairs on his body stood up.
The short sword that should have missed the target by a hair's breadth, but the black mist lingering on the blade actually gave Mifune a stinging chill.
If Kumokawa were here, he would be able to recognize that this move is very similar to the most basic sword move in Tai Chi sword.
——A white rainbow passes over a stream. A white rainbow passes over a stream, not with one sword, but with two swords.
This is a complete set of continuous sword styles. After the "silent moistening of things", the "fast rain" will naturally become...
"Rain Breathing: Fifth Form: Clear Rainbow in the Mist!"
Yoshitaka's tone was cold, and there was a clear sound on the blade, turning the rain and fog into a sword blade.
At this moment, Mifune's pupils constricted, reflecting the cold light that was piercing him, and he stomped his feet on the water on the ground at an almost unbelievable speed.
BANG!!
Mifune's figure disappeared on the spot, and a big hole appeared on the ground. The crack extended for several meters and stirred up rain and fog.
"ah!!"
The blood splashed in the air and fell to the ground like an arrow. Mifune screamed subconsciously and flew backwards!
In mid-air, a stream of blood as red as a rose could be seen flowing from his eyes. It was a tiny hole that was almost invisible, but it directly pierced his left eye.
A sword cut a thrilling bloody mark on his face, and the heavy rain was enough to wet the black, bloody scarlet eye sockets!
It was just a little bit short, the sword almost went through his head.
"Die!!"
In shock and anger, the furious and violent Mifune had a ferocious look on his face. He no longer cared about the erosion of the black fog. He released most of the little chakra in his body, and the white sword slash was thrown out from the famous sword Kurosawa in his hand.
Crack! Crack!
The sword light wrapped in the wild hunting airflow expanded several times in an instant after being thrown out, leaving a long and thick gully on the ground. Stone chips splashed around and created pieces of rain and mist, which were about to cover Yoshitaka in the distance.
But in the next moment, the figure became like smoke and fog, with his toes tapping on the ground and moving backwards. The surrounding black rain and fog gathered towards him, and his figure instantly disappeared in the black fog.
And the Sky-Splitting Slash that Mifune swung was once again like a drop in the ocean, failing to create the slightest ripple in the fog.
“Damn it! Damn it!!”
Mifune didn't care about his left eye which was still bleeding. He clenched the sword with both hands, making a teeth-grinding sound. The calmness on his face from beginning to end finally disappeared, and turned into a gloomy and shocked expression.
"Shameless villain! Get out here and face me!" He said in a hateful voice, "Don't you even have an ounce of dignity as a swordsman?!"
It is no exaggeration to say that in terms of experience and attainments, he is the strongest swordsman in the entire ninja world.
However, facing this half-baked swordsman and ninja whom he once looked down upon, and facing such a frustrating situation, he finally tore off the condescending mask of peace, revealing the deep hostility that had been hidden in the dry well for years.
However, in the face of Mifune's almost unreasonable questioning, Yoshitaka did not state his ideas as he had before, but gave the response that Mifune wanted.
"In that case, I'll give you this chance."
As Yoshitaka's voice reached Mifune's ears, new changes occurred again in the rain and fog. The whistling wind was as turbulent as a tide, and the rain that was originally falling vertically fell diagonally.
In a place that Mifune could not see, white mist rose from Yoshitaka's body, and the sweat on his body was evaporated in an instant by the high temperature.
The skin all over his body felt like heated steel, and the blood in his veins seemed to be truly burning, flowing out freely like thawing spring water.
The potential in every cell is released, and each cell breathes freely like a spring bud breaking through a rock. Incomparable power surges through every part of the body.
Everything in Yoshitaka's eyes was extremely clear. He once again entered a state of complete concentration, as if he had been freed from the constraints of an iron chain. He breathed freely and allowed every fiber of his body to stretch freely.
"Rain Breathing: Sixth Form: Listening to the Tide."
With this perception, he will break through the speed limit of any time before.
"Phew!"
Pushing his ability to a whole new level again, Yoshitaka slowly exhaled a breath of burning white air, lowered his eyebrows and said: "If you can block it, then block it, Mifune, the general of the Iron Country."
As soon as the words fell, a loud bang was heard.
"Rain Breathing: Seventh Form: Rain Mist!"
Yoshitaka felt that the sound of rain around him was stretched to the extreme, as if dancing in the air, and the surrounding black fog was kneading and changing like rubber.
The black mist lingered on the short sword and turned into clearly visible blade patterns, spreading on the blade like spider patterns, looking extremely ferocious.
Yoshitaka poured all his murderous intent into this attack, like a black python streaking across the rain from the sky.
But at this moment, Yoshitaka clearly saw that Mifune's pupils moved.
Although the sword was extremely fast, Mifune had already been prepared after Yoshitaka's reminder.
Faced with the murderous intent that was like a torrential flood, Mifune turned around with cold eyes and drew out a sword in the raging tide. The long sword groaned as he squeezed it.
All the chakra in the body was released at this moment, and the white sword arc that drew an extreme scream in the air was like a giant waving his arms to shake the surging python!
boom!!
The two swords created a huge force and circular air waves, pushing Mifune back half a meter, and the wet ground beneath his feet instantly cracked apart.
But the next moment, under Mifune's cold and ferocious gaze, the already broken short sword in Yoshitaka's hand could no longer withstand the sharpness of the famous sword and Yoshitaka's speed.
Click!
With a mournful cry, it broke completely into two pieces.
The sword hit the gap in the short sword, which was exactly what Mifune was trying to do.
Mifune, who had anticipated this, ignored the broken and cracked knuckles, the pain of his right eye being pierced, and the blood gushing out from the blade fragments entering his flesh!
Without any pause, he let go of the famous sword in his hand that had opened a winning path for himself and clenched his fists.
“Die!!”
He took a step forward and punched Yoshitaka's neck with all his strength.
At this moment, Yoshitaka had no time to retract his strength.
At this critical moment, a smile appeared on his face, and his eyes passed over Mifune's shoulder and raised to the black fog lingering in the distance.
Yoshitaka never understood why Mifune always called himself a swordsman, and why he thought that all swordsmen were upright.
At least, Yoshitaka has always felt and said that he is a villain, a villain who will do anything to achieve his goals.
Behind Mifune's blind spot, a figure cut through the black fog, as if slicing through a curtain of bitter rain. An angry face was reflected in Yoshitaka's eyes, and his swung right foot brought up a cloud of blood mist, as if cutting through the rain mist and even space.
"Blood Demon Art: Blood Scythe Sky Rift!"
At this moment, Mifune also sensed the wind behind him. He watched with bloodshot eyes as Yoshitaka tried his best to turn sideways. He watched his fist smash into Yoshitaka's chest and couldn't help but curse, "I have never seen such shamelessness..."
Before he could finish his words, Asa's attack came from behind.
Puff!
