The Land of Rain, Daimyo Mansion.
BANG!!
The sonic boom sounded on a rainy night.
Dust and white smoke tens of meters high rose like a curtain and were blown away by the unstoppable strong wind.
And in the midst of the devastation and broken walls, several figures leaped out from the smoke and dust.
Mifune, flying upside down in the air, raised the blade of his sword, creating a whistling wind in front of him to block the raindrops that were flying like ink.
Puff! Hiss!
The ink rain sprinkled on the broken wall behind Mifune, making a harsh and terrifying sound like sulfuric acid falling to the ground, corroding the smooth wall with visible marks.
“……”
The blade that was blocking in front of him slowly lowered, revealing Mifune's slightly gloomy expression.
When he saw the blade in his hand stained by inky raindrops, a trace of heartache and suspicion flashed across his eyes.
The sword is the samurai's second life.
The sword he used was called "Kurosawa", a famous sword and one of the Kusanagi swords circulating in the world.
Kusanagi sword is not the name of a particular sword, but the name of a type of sword. Every Kusanagi sword is undoubtedly a sharp weapon and is said to have its own unique abilities.
The "Kurosawa" used by Mifune not only has extremely strong chakra conduction ability, but also has sharp and tough characteristics.
Although the black ink-like substance failed to corrode or deform it, Mifune still keenly felt that his Kurosawa had become lighter.
"Yoshitaka, you bastard..."
Thinking of this, Mifune subconsciously gritted his teeth, frowned and stared at Yoshitaka in the distance.
The moment he finished speaking, his figure disappeared from the spot, leaving only the cracked ground.
Mifune leaped up and swooped down like an eagle, with the blade as his sharp beak. It was obvious that he had no intention of holding back. He swung his arms with real power, and the air flowed like rain and mist. He jumped and slashed at Yoshitaka with absolute murderous intent.
In the dim light, Yoshitaka's face darkened, and he swung his sword diagonally like a falling leaf to attack, cutting through the rain curtain and leaving circles of ripples on it.
clang!!
Mifune placed the famous sword Kurosawa on Yoshitaka's short sword, mobilizing every muscle fiber, and instantly made Yoshitaka feel an extremely heavy, hard and cold pressure.
"You can't win." Mifune said coldly, "The gap between us cannot be made up by your little tricks. Face the reality!"
In terms of strength, Yoshitaka was obviously at a disadvantage, and his sword deviated instantly under the heavy blow of the sword. However, facing Mifune's words and murderous intent, Yoshitaka remained expressionless, and he moved sideways and slashed the blade with force to dissipate the force.
At the same time, his chest rose and fell, and two streams of white mist flowed out of the corners of his mouth again. He took a small step forward to get closer to the killing distance, and with the sword hilt raised with his backhand, he made a movement similar to drawing a sword!
"Rain Breathing: Second Form: Duckweed!"
This was the Shin'you sword technique that Kumokawa had used when he faced Musashi's Niten Ichiryu. Yoshitaka perfectly integrated it into his own close-combat short sword technique.
"Rain Breathing: Third Form: Rapid Rain!"
Yoshitaka seized the moment when sparks were splashing like rain and then disappeared in the rain, and the moment when his vision became dim, and swung the short sword in his hand continuously like a storm. In a short moment, he swung out several times with extremely fast movements.
Seeing the several swords coming at him almost at the same time, Mifune's pupils shrank. He held the sword with both hands, calmed down, and planted his legs firmly on the ground.
No matter where the sword technique comes from, no matter what kind of sword technique it is, the lower body is always the foundation in close combat.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
He used the ground beneath his feet to gain strength and took root. The famous sword Kurosawa in his hand moved so fast that it was difficult for normal people to see it with their naked eyes. The wind from the sword was like an airtight wall.
In the dark torrent of rain, sparks continued to bloom in front of Mifune, completely blocking Yoshitaka's attack.
Black Rain and White Shadow, two completely different blades, two completely different swordsmanship, suppressing each other and stripping away the space for each other's existence.
However, unlike Yoshitaka, who was born in a low-class family and changed his career, Mifune began to train his physical strength and swordsmanship at a very young age. He went to places that Musashi had never gone to before. He was younger than Musashi!
Facing such Mifune, Yoshitaka was far inferior in terms of talent and experience!
The omnipresent sound of the torrent of rain could not hide the sound of the swords!
Although the advantage had returned to Yoshitaka, Mifune, with his strong swordsmanship experience, managed to block Yoshitaka's intensive attacks and even gradually reversed his disadvantage.
No matter how crazy the rain of short swords was, Mifune was like a bottomless lake, taking all the intensive attacks without giving way or avoiding them, showing how powerful he was at his peak!
The moment before, Mifune was still practicing Yinliu's defensive sword technique, blocking Yoshitaka's violent blade, and even tried to use "no sword to take" to seize Yoshitaka's wrist.
The next moment, Mifune suddenly seized upon Yoshitaka's momentary mistake and turned to the offensive, switching directly from Yinliu to Tanghuang Daoshi, and without hesitation, he swung his sword towards Yoshitaka's throat.
"You're so strong, Mifune!"
Sweat dripped down Yoshitaka's cheeks, but the smile on his lips deepened.
The pent-up anger in his heart was released with a heroic shout, and he did not hesitate to stop the sword from being snatched away.
Not only did he not dodge as Mifune expected, but he used his body to ram Mifune in a suicidal manner.
clang!!
This action broke Mifune's "no-sword attack". He took the initiative to move forward and got close to Mifune before his arm holding the sword could exert force. The two swords bit each other, and waves of rain splashed all over his body. Sparks and light suddenly appeared again.
The two of them were already close to each other, and their movements at this moment were no different from "horse stance". The muscles in their legs were as hard as steel and deeply rooted in the ground.
But the sharp blade of the famous sword Kurosawa was getting closer and closer to Yoshitaka's face, and the knuckles and palms of Yoshitaka that were holding the handle and supporting the blade were bleeding.
Both of them used different strengths in their hands and stared into each other's eyes. The dim light illuminated the anger in each other's eyes.
Like a lion and a tiger competing in the sharpness of their fangs, he locked his opponent's neck and used his bite muscles with all his might.
“……”
Yoshitaka's chest heaved violently, and his mind became dark for a moment.
The appearance of Mifune was unexpected.
The warrior in front of him looked short, but he was full of vigorous power. In the unreserved power confrontation, Yoshitaka, who focused on speed, was no match at all.
The sword techniques that Yoshitaka had developed so far were all geared towards stealth and assassination. If they were to compete in explosive power, he wouldn't necessarily lose, but he had to admit that his physical strength was far inferior to that of Mifune.
This great general of the Iron Country is undoubtedly a master of swordsmanship.
Therefore, it was Yoshitaka who ended the power contest by force.
His upper body leaned back like a taut pine tree, and before Mifune could react, he headbutted him.
BANG!!
Their foreheads collided with each other, and there was a terrifying sound from the frontal bones. They immediately felt their heads shaking and their eyes went black.
The next moment, both sides attacked with all their strength almost at the same time, and at the same time blocked each other's sword attacks. The force of the sword blades rebounded made their palms numb.
When the two men were pulled apart by the huge force of the collision, and before Yoshitaka's feet could find a place to land, Mifune, who was in mid-air, dived and drew his sword at his waist.
"That's enough, Yoshitaka! I've had enough! How are you going to bridge the gap between ordinary iron and famous swords?"
A cold and stern voice came from Mifune's mouth, and he threw Kurosawa out in the rain, waves and dark currents. He broke the rain between the two with a sword, and slashed towards Yoshitaka's abdomen with a white light!
Yoshitaka's head was still a little dizzy, and he subconsciously gripped the handle of the sword tightly, making a teeth-grinding creaking sound and blocking it at his side.
Crack!
The famous sword Kurosawa and the short sword forged from ordinary iron collided, and a crack appeared on the blade of the short sword in Yoshitaka's hand.
After being knocked away twice in mid-air, Yoshitaka was unable to move, and the threat of death came from the sky like a flood, swallowing up everything he had!
"Yoshitaka! What makes you think you can bridge the gap between ordinary iron and famous swords?"
Crack! Bang!
The short sword in his hand blocked in front of him, and the swung sword light collided with the huge force that made Yoshitaka's bones explode, and he flew backwards several meters in an instant.
Steadying his body, his blood surged slightly, Yoshitaka's face with bulging veins turned red, his chest heaved violently, and he looked at the short sword in his hand.
The wrought iron long blade, which was originally considered the finest among ordinary irons, is now covered with cracks on the blade. It makes a mournful sound just by waving it, and it looks like it will turn into several pieces of scrap iron at any moment!
"When I get back, I must ask Lord Kumokawa to take over the Takumi Village and make me a sturdy sword!"
Just as Yoshitaka had this thought, a panicked voice suddenly rang out.
"Yoshitaka-sensei! Be careful!"
As the words reached his ears, a sharp whistle that broke through the air was also heard.
Yoshitaka suddenly bent down and leaned back, his pupils slightly dilated, watching the white blade light tear through the rain curtain and fly past his nose with a sharp sound.
Sword Technique: Sky Slash!
Puff!
The chakra blade that passed in front of Yoshitaka chopped off the several demons and samurai fighting behind him. The severed wall was torn apart with a loud bang, and it flew into the distant rain without slowing down!
"..."
Seeing this scene, cold sweat oozed from Yoshitaka's forehead and flowed down his neck into his clothes.
This guy Mifune, who was obviously a samurai who adhered to the old-fashioned spirit, actually combined chakra and swordsmanship like those rebellious bounty hunters who were driven away by him?
“Yoshitaka, tell me now!”
Mifune stood on the rooftop, looking down at him. He tore off the bandage on his forehead, revealing the ugly scar, and said coldly, "How are you going to bridge the gap between you and me, someone who is insidious and despicable and has no faith or will?"
He was grateful that Hanzo spared his life, but he also felt humiliated and angry about it.
Hanzo's sword almost cut his head off. He has been covering the scar on his forehead with cloth, and he has always regarded it as a shame in his life.
Pity is the most arrogant treatment among warriors.
He regarded Hanzo as his enemy, and always wanted to use his swordsmanship and Iai Slash to regain the victory he lost several years ago and wash away the shame of being pitied by Hanzo.
In his eyes, only Hanzo can make him face the truth, so how can he allow himself to be defeated by Yoshitaka.
"You're a troublesome fellow."
Mifune sheathed the sword in his hand back into the sheath at his waist, stared at Yoshitaka who was still adjusting his breathing in the distance and said calmly: "If it was you who was standing behind me and suddenly attacked me, I might not be able to block it."
"But you have no chance of winning if you face me head on."
"So, that's it, Yoshitaka... this sword should have been meant for Hanzo."
As Mifune spoke, Yoshitaka sensed a strange phenomenon.
He could feel that there seemed to be something in the air, gathering towards the Mifune, like a storm-like siphon, absorbing things in the air that humans could not observe like a whale sucking water.
That was "momentum", the sharp "momentum" in Mifune's body. As he gradually sheathed his sword and as the chakra in his body emerged, it was also absorbed into his body at this moment.
The next moment Yoshitaka realized that something was wrong, in the blink of an eye, Mifune completed the process of visualizing, breathing, cutting with the koi-guchi, pulling out the handle, and cutting off at an incredibly fast speed.
Draw the sword! Iai!
Mifune actually remembered his breathing frequency during the brief confrontation and caught the extremely short moment between his exhalation and inhalation!
At this time, he didn't even have time to exhale that breath, and the blade light that was so fast that it made his whole body cold had already arrived in front of him!
“Can’t avoid it!”
I will die! I will die! I will die!
The terrifying white mist that was attacking him was reflected in his constricted pupils. Yoshitaka's blood seemed to be rushing through his body desperately, but it was still frozen into ice by the bone-chilling coldness and death.
But in the next moment, a figure suddenly stepped into his field of vision. It was a familiar figure that was broad, fat and short.
"Asuto!"
Asa's roar, which sounded like a mixture of shock and anger, reached Yoshitaka's ears, and like thunder, the pupils of Yoshitaka, who was frozen in place, suddenly dilated.
Looking at the figure blocking in front of him and the blinding white light that broke through the air.
Inexplicably, a large amount of emotions poured into Yoshitaka's heart like a strong wind and heavy rain.
Anger! Shame! Madness!
These emotions were too sudden, too complex, and too turbulent, like branching lightning all over the sky, running through his brain wantonly.
Yoshitaka didn't expect that he still had such emotions in his heart. He didn't feel fear before death approached, but now he felt angry and ashamed!
He can die, he is not as skilled as others, that's just how it is.
He was a man without any motivation. He should have died when his teacher Musashi died.
It was because Kumokawa promised him to bury Musashi's body that he joined Dawn as a teacher.
Even if I die, I will just return my life to Kumokawa.
But now, with his own student standing in front of him, the anger was like a flame burning in his chest. Mifune's killing intent and death intention could not extinguish the flame in his chest, but only fueled it!
His bones made a crackling sound, and the torrent in his blood vessels boiled like magma.
Until the fire in his heart could no longer be suppressed, his chest seemed to be torn open, and the three ugly scars under the corners of his eyes were quickly covered by three inky marks.
The markings are not the markings that appear when the body temperature reaches 39 degrees and the heart rate exceeds 200 in the Demon Slayer world, but the manifestation of the explosive release of the ninja's physique, will, and potential.
Boom!!
At this moment, black gas burst out from Yoshitaka's body, as if a giant beast was exhaling wet and cold rain mist from its mouth.
The black rain and fog instantly spread with Yoshitaka as the center, engulfing everything around him, including Asuto who was not far away, and covering all the samurai and demons.
The incomparably sharp and unstoppable sword light cut through the rain and fog, leaving a mark in the next moment, but was then filled back by a huge amount of black rain and fog.
It was like a drop in the ocean, only causing ripples, and in the blink of an eye it was swallowed up by the rain and fog and disappeared into thin air.
The black rain and fog continued to move forward, coming towards them like smoke, engulfing and covering Mifune's figure, as if he had entered a simple domain.
