“Well done.”
The Third Mizukage praised as he looked at the sealed scroll and mission report on the table.
In fact, before Team Ao returned, the Third Mizukage already knew what had happened.
This time it was not that the Third Mizukage's intelligence was so powerful, but that Kumogakure Village sent a letter of accusation first.
The Raikage verbally denounced the Kirigakure Village for sabotaging the military operations of Kumogakure Village and demanded the return of their spoils, the Byakugan.
However, the Third Mizukage had no intention of paying any attention to the other party at all.
The Land of Water front has now entered a stalemate, but the fighting on the Land of Lightning front is intense.
The Third Mizukage saw that Kumogakure Village was unwilling to open up a second battlefield, otherwise it was very likely that the four great ninja countries the Land of Water, Wind, Earth and Fire would besiege the Land of Lightning and split it among themselves.
As a veteran Kage, the Third Mizukage still has great faith in the moral integrity of Ōnoki.
After casually flipping through the mission report, the Third Mizukage once again turned his attention to the people standing in front of him.
"Ao, you did a great job this time. You can keep one of these two Byakugan for your team. The village will handle the follow-up matters."
"As for the others, record an S-rank mission."
"Thank you, Third Mizukage-sama."
In fact, the reward from the Third Mizukage was already generous enough. After all, the Byakugan was a strategic resource, and it wouldn't be of much use for one person to transplant two Byakugan.
Kaito secretly glanced at the three members of Team Ken who had indifferent expressions, and he couldn't help feeling a little sympathetic.
‘As expected, the dead have no value in the Kirigakure Village.’
‘At least Konohagakure Village still has a memorial tablet. Ninjas can only be respected in Kirigakure Village if they are still alive.’
Just when Kaito was thinking about this, he suddenly felt someone pulling his clothes on the right.
When he turned around, he saw Mei winking at him frantically.
Realizing that things were getting serious, Kaito quickly looked up at the Third Mizukage.
Sure enough, the other party had a half-smile on his face, and even the Elder Genji next to him was looking at him with the same expression.
At this time, Kaito dared not to think about anything else, and quickly bowed his head and admitted his mistake with a well-behaved look on his face.
"I'm sorry, Third Mizukage-sama, I was distracted just now."
Unexpectedly, the Third Mizukage just waved his hand casually and said.
"It's okay, young people, your mind is more active, it's normal that you don't like to listen to these tedious things."
It is hard to imagine that these are words that the old guy who created the Blood Mist Era could say.
"I read Ao's mission report. You played an important role this time. Is there any reward you want?"
The Third Mizukage's question really stumped Kaito. The main reason was that although he played a significant role this time, to put it bluntly, it was just a contribution to an S-rank mission. How good a reward could he, a Chunin, get?
‘If I say now that I want to become the Three-Tails Jinchuriki, will the Mizukage beat me to death?’
‘The point is, I don't want anything else.’
With this level of achievement, Kaito definitely can't obtain S-rank ninjutsu or forbidden techniques. Besides, he also has the system lottery, so he is not short of ninjutsu.
He didn't really want the ninja sword pie that Yagura had drawn before.
It is possible to ask for a promotion to jonin, but once he reaches the jonin level, the tasks assigned to him in the future will be more difficult. Kaito felt that his strength was still lacking, and he didn't want to force a promotion and cause trouble for himself.
After thinking about it, Kaito decided to play nice and accept what he had.
“Third Mizukage-sama, It is the duty of a ninja to complete the mission to the best of his ability. No additional rewards are needed."
"You're quite an interesting kid, go pick a ninjutsu later."
"Thank you, Third Mizukage-sama."
The Third Mizukage found it somewhat amusing to see the kid who had just said he didn't want a reward just accept it so straightforwardly.
He opened his squinting eyes and looked at the Kaito with interest.
"Okay, you guys step back first."
After saying that, the Third Mizukage no longer paid attention to the reactions of the others and picked up the mission report again to read it.
After seeing that everyone had completely left, he turned around and spoke to Elder Genji who had started working.
"That kid named Kaito is quite interesting."
Elder Genji did not raise his head, still looking at the document in his hand, and just replied quickly.
“He’s a very talented kid.”
As if he had thought of something, the elder Genji raised his head and looked towards the Third Mizukage.
"Does the Third Mizukage want to transfer him to the Anbu?"
The Third Mizukage thought about it for a moment, but shook his head.
"Let's take another look."
A young man with some talent is just a small matter after all. The topic of the two returned to this mission again.
"Third Mizukage-sama, do you want to send someone to investigate the curse secret technique mastered by the Jashin cult of the Land of Hot Water mentioned in the mission?"
"Don't worry about them. They are probably those old antiques again. Since they are in the Land of Hot Water, let Konoha and Kumogakure worry about it." The Third Mizukage said indifferently.
Some tricks and strange techniques that existed before the ninjas, even if they are still passed down today, will never become mainstream.
"But since Kumogakure Village has withdrawn its troops, the battle in the Land of Hot Water should soon be reaching its peak."
"Yes, Third Mizukage-sama. But now Konoha's main force is still on the Sunagakure side. Unexpectedly, Sunagakure is unexpectedly resilient and is still fighting with Konohagakure near The Land of Rivers."
"It's useless. The population of Sunagakure Village is too small. They can't last long relying on some wooden frames and poison." The Third Mizukage obviously looked down on the Sunagakure Village.
"Then should we move? Otherwise, once Konohagakure's troops in The Land of Rivers are free, they may be sent to our side."
"No, even if Sunagakure surrenders, Konohagakure wouldn't dare to transfer too many troops."
"Tell Yagura to control those idiots of the Kaguya clan. It's not time to exert force on the front line. Konohagakure is not showing any signs of fatigue right now."
"It still depends on that kid Onoki. Let the intelligence personnel pay more attention to the movements of Iwagakure."
"Okay, I'll arrange it right away."
The two old men with the most power in the Kirigakure Village decided the next policy of the Kirigakure Village with just a few words.
On the other side, Ao, who had just walked out of the Mizukage Building, looked at the members of Ken's team and seemed to be hesitant to speak.
However, Azusa, who was usually taciturn, was the first to speak.
"Jonin Ao, we're leaving first. Ken-sensei has no relatives, so we need to go and help him deal with his funeral affairs."
Ao finally just sighed in his heart.
"Then go ahead, you can come to me if you need any help."
Watching the three people leave, the team's morale improved a lot.
After all, death is too common for ninjas, whether it is for others or themselves.
What's more, they were in the Kirigakure Village, and the few of them just felt a little sorry for Ken, one of the few jonin in the Kirigakure Village with a good personality.
However, Kaito didn't expect that Ao's next words would almost make him lose his balance and fall in front of the door of the Mizukage Building.
"Do any of you three want to transplant the Byakugan?"
