After this short scene, there were no more problems during the rest of the trip.
Everyone returned to the Kirigakure Village safely.
The trio first went to the Mizukage Building to report, and as a result, they not only received the rewards for their mission during the war, but also received good news.
"Your official appointments as Chūnin have already been issued, but you have been on the front lines all the time, so the temporary appointments do not affect anything. Now we can officially register you."
Mei and Zabuza didn't react to the words of the ninja in the mission office. After all, the team had already been used as Chūnin on the front line, and this was just a formality.
Only Kaito was roaring wildly in his heart.
‘How can it not have an impact?! If I had officially become a Chūnin earlier, I might have been able to participate in the lottery 4 or 5 days earlier!’
Unfortunately, Kaito could only think about these words in his own mind.
Since there were many supporting items for a Chūnin, after leaving the mission office, the three of them went to the logistics department to collect their equipment. Only then were they officially considered to have become a Chūnin of the Kirigakure Village.
[Ding! You have become a Chūnin and have unlocked the achievement "Reverse Upgrade!"]
After hearing the system prompt, Kaito immediately opened the system panel to check, and sure enough, this time the reward was 300 gold coins again.
Kaito was not disappointed because the achievement reward for Chūnin was the same as that for Genin.
This was actually anticipated before.
After all, with the stingy nature of the system, Kaito had not yet received a reward of more than 300 gold coins for any achievement. Instead, it was usually 5 or 10 gold coins, which made him somewhat happy about this "big order".
After turning off the panel, Kaito saw that his two teammates were sorting their equipment, so he simply picked up his tray and started counting.
A brand new Kirigakure forehead protector, a set of black clothes and pants, two shoulder pads, a Chūnin vest, and two cotton sleeves were also thoughtfully distributed.
How should I put it? The things are quite complete.
But I have to say that the Chūnin vests of the Kirigakure Village are really ugly. And they are exactly the same as the ninja vests of Konoha more than ten years ago, which are simple flat gray composite armor.
Apart from certain defensive capabilities, it has no other functions at all.
The current Chūnin vests of Konohagakure at least have a few pockets to store some small scrolls or ninja tools, which is quite helpful in combat.
Only the two cotton sleeves are somewhat distinctive, reflecting the excellent humanistic care of the Blood Mist Village.
Fortunately, the village did not have a rule that required the wearing of standard equipment, and Kaito himself did not think that the identity of a Chūnin was something to brag about.
He just chooses to refuse ugly like Mei next to him.
This made Zabuza, who was about to put on the Chūnin vest right here, feel a little embarrassed.
Seeing that his two teammates were not paying attention here, Zabuza decisively stopped raising his vest.
He used brute force to fold the Chūnin vest, which had decent defensive capabilities, several times, pretending to be sorting and packing up his belongings.
This caused Blue, who was squatting at Kaito's feet and looking around, to cover his mouth and laugh.
"Well, we just got back to the village today, so let's go home and rest up."
"But now that the rewards for this war mission have been distributed, and everyone has officially become a Chūnin, let's gather together tomorrow. Ask Ao-sensei to come along, and I'll treat you, how about that?"
As the captain, Kaito saw that his two teammates had already packed up and made a suggestion.
Mei and Zabuza thought about it and didn't refuse.
Although they hadn't seen each other for just over ten days, after all, the three of them had just returned from the battlefield, so it would be good for them to meet and report that they were safe.
The next morning, in Kirigakure Village, at a barbecue restaurant.
"Ao-sensei, you are now in charge of the Perception Unit. Do you not need to go on missions anymore?"
Mei said to Ao with a smile.
"Even eating can't stop you from talking, what do you mean by actually being in charge? It's just that Senior Yagura is mainly responsible for the frontline work."
"And the mission still needs to be done. Although Kaito is leading the team now, before I take over new team members, I still need to take you with me on some missions."
Ao casually flicked Mei's forehead, which made Kaito laugh.
"Also, there are not many ninjas in the village that can be dispatched to carry out missions. Although the Daimyo also supports this war, a certain number of routine missions must still be guaranteed."
Come to think of it, it makes sense. After all, in peacetime, these tasks are the foundation for maintaining a ninja village.
Even though the number of missions would be reduced during wartime to ensure the village's combat effectiveness, the number of ninjas available to go on missions would also be relatively reduced.
If we cannot guarantee that daily tasks are completed perfectly, potential clients will look down upon the village’s strength.
As the team leader, Kaito also agreed.
"Ao-sensei, don't worry. The three of us just came back from the battlefield. We will take on some easier missions recently. If you need the cooperation of the team, we are ready at any time."
"Don't worry, Ao-sensei. I won't let you fall to the point of completing the mission alone."
As expected, another slap was given to Mei.
Now even Zabuza beside him nodded in agreement and smiled.
The team had been established for nearly half a year, and Zabuza had already integrated into the team after spending time with him day and night.
Occasionally, his true nature is revealed.
It is getting further and further away from the image of the 'Demon' in Kaito's impression.
After the three of them finished their meal, they did not separate immediately.
It was a rare opportunity for Ao, the busy Vice Captain of the Perception Unit, to have some free time, so he simply took the three little ones to the training ground, ready to test their recent training results.
But the result still scared Ao.
"Kaito, have you mastered the wind-attribute chakra transformation?"
"You also developed a new ninjutsu???"
Even Mei and Zabuza looked at Kaito with astonishment.
After all, although Kaito had used "Aerial Ace" before, it was a Kenjutsu after all, and it did not look obvious.
It was also the first time that the two knew that Kaito had also developed wind-attribute ninjutsu.
"Uh, it's okay? I wanted to develop a water substitute jutsu, but then I thought the wind attribute would be more suitable, so I tried it."
Just now Kaito showed the "Wind Style: Feather Dance". This kind of ninjutsu that he had never seen before almost made him drop his jaw in shock, and he paused the test on the spot.
‘Fortunately, I haven't used Roost yet, otherwise Ao-sensei would have fainted.’
After all, S-level ninjutsu is indeed too rare, and Kaito estimated that Ao might not have mastered any of them.
It's a pity that Ao has not mastered the Yang attribute chakra, nor does he have the talent of a medical ninja, otherwise Kaito wouldn't mind teaching Ao the "Roost" ninjutsu in the future.
In that case, Ao would probably be able to remain intact under the Tailed Beast Bomb.
