On the way back to the village, Kaito kept thinking about the conversation that Yagura had with him before he left.
"Have you ever thought about becoming one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen?"
When Yagura said this, Kaito almost choked to death on his own saliva.
You know, although the group of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen was directly kicked into the "Three" by Might Dai in the original work.
But in essence, it is still a powerful team composed of seven elite jōnin.
To put it bluntly, if these seven people were to move out at the same time, they could completely destroy some small ninja villages, and I don't just mean ninja villages like the Takumi Ninja Village that have no combat power.
The poor performance in the original work only shows the power of the forbidden technique "Eight Inner Gates".
I am now a Chūnin, and a temporary one during wartime. How could I have the qualifications to get into the Seven Ninja Swordsman?
I'm afraid it will be secretly erased by other ninja swordsmen to avoid lowering the overall level.
Moreover, the group of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen was actually an idea proposed by the Second Mizukage, who mobilized their energy to collect seven ninja swords.
After the Second Mizukage died in battle, the Third Mizukage began to train and select talents.
It can be said that this group has been a direct force dedicated to serving the Mizukage since its inception.
Although you, Karatachi Yagura, may become the Mizukage in the future, you are only a Jonin Commander now. Why do you have the right to designate who will inherit the ninja sword?
And now the two ninja swords that are free, 'Twin Blades: Hiramekarei' and 'Samehada', are truly two of the best among the Seven Ninja Swords.
Now that the ninja swords are without an owner, there's no telling how many jōnin are eyeing them.
However, Yagura also made it clear that at present he just hopes that Kaito can join his team.
As for the two ninja swords, if Kaito has an idea, he can suppress one of them so that no one will inherit it. If Kaito can become a senior ninja within two years, then he can directly nominate Kaito to inherit the ninja sword.
It's a pity that this kind of pancake is okay to smell, but it's really hard to eat.
For others, this might be a good promise, for example, a short guy without eyebrows might readily agree to it.
However, for Kaito, who has an external plug-in to protect his body, I can only say "Not bad, the cake is quite round."
Besides, Kaito touched the "Shinsō" on his back and thought it was no worse than Samehada... um.
It's not like Twin Blades: Hiramekarei
No matter how you think about it, it can be ranked in the top three among the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, right?!
There is absolutely no need to rely on others just for the title of Seven Ninja Swordsmen.
Moreover, the suggestion given by Yagura was to let Kaito join the Anbu team for some training first.
It is not clear whether Kaito can be tempered or not, but if he joins the Anbu and at the same time defect to Yagura.
Then in the future, when Yagura really needs Kaito to use his identity as an Anbu to do something, wouldn't he be leaving a handle for the other party for nothing?
But what worries Kaito the most now is that this guy, Yagura, is in a high position after all, and he had tried to win him over in a subtle way when Ao was injured before.
If I refuse again, would that offend the other party?
After all, although Kaito didn't want to become someone else's younger brother, he also didn't want to make another enemy in the village.
Fortunately, what Yagura valued was the future potential of Kaito. And since it was wartime, he did not ask him to give an answer on the spot.
Kaito could only perfunctorily answer the other party by saying that he needed to think about it carefully.
"Sigh~ It's my fault for being too good."
Kaito was leaning on the plywood railing, his feet dangling in the air, looking at the sea listlessly.
"Tsk~" x2
Two somewhat disgusted voices came from behind Kaito.
It was Mei and Zabuza who had just walked over and heard the shameless remarks made by Kaito.
Kaito turned around and looked at his two teammates somewhat awkwardly.
"Weren't you guys refining chakra in the cabin? Why did you come out?"
This time when they returned to the village for repairs, they took the Land of Water's supply transport ship. Although there were no supplies on the return voyage, it was only used to transport troops.
However, the conditions were naturally not comparable to the passenger ship they had taken during the previous mission, and it was even more impossible to provide each person with a single room. Fortunately, the three members of Kaito's team were lucky enough to be assigned to the same cabin.
Before, the three of them were practicing refining chakra in the cabin, but Kaito was always thinking about the recruitment of Yagura, and felt a little bored, so he ran out to the deck to get some fresh air.
"You are the captain of the team now. You ran out without saying a word. We thought something happened." Mei turned her head away in dissatisfaction.
"I'm afraid you won't be able to get over it." Zabuza was more direct.
Now Kaito's expression became even more embarrassing. It seemed that he had been out of shape since he got on the boat, and this obviously did not escape the attention of his two teammates.
However, this kind of thing is not easy to explain to his teammates, so Kaito could only speak vaguely.
"I'm thinking about the future development. Mei is working hard to become the Mizukage, Zabuza also wants to seize Long Blade: Nuibari and become one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen. Only I, the captain, seem to have no goals."
This is also what Kaito really thinks.
From the very beginning, the sense of urgency of an ordinary person arriving in the ninja world forced him to set the goal of just surviving.
But after getting through the initial stage, I can improve my strength relatively steadily with the help of plug-ins.
As long as I am strong enough and not afraid of any opponent, then surviving is not a difficult thing.
Kaito sometimes wonders whether he should set a goal or something.
For example, 'for the peace of the ninja world'?
Or 'for the peace of my ninja world'?
This may also motivate me to become stronger.
Unexpectedly, Zabuza directly refuted.
"I am also aiming to become the Mizukage, and I don't want to challenge Long Blade: Nuibari!"
Mei said nonchalantly.
"Hehe, that's perfect, Kaito, you can also set your sights on becoming the Mizukage. How about I become the Fourth first, and then the two of you compete for the Fifth?"
"Uh, forget about the Mizukage or anything like that. It's too much trouble."
"Idiot."
"Zabuza, what are you talking about?"
When Mei heard that Zabuza dared to mock her perfect suggestion, she immediately wanted to teach this teammate who couldn't tell the difference between the big king and the small king a lesson.
Kaito also looked at his two teammates with a smile on his face.
However, Zabuza suddenly stopped dodging and was punched by Mei.
Mei didn't expect that Zabuza would be so obedient that he would not dodge or evade. She didn't hold back her punch at all, causing Zabuza to stagger.
However, Zabuza didn't care at all and said, pointing to the sea in the distance.
"What is that? It seems to be moving?"
