"Ao-sensei, in your current state, why don't you put down the things in your hands for a while?"
Mei, who was peeling an apple for Ao, looked at Ao speechlessly while he was still processing the information.
Ao needs a checkup and a change of dressing today. As the only medical ninja in the team, this task will naturally be done by Kaito.
The trio had just returned from completing a mission in the Land of Fire, but this time they were either too lucky or too unlucky. They followed another team of perception ninjas in the Land of Fire for two days, but did not encounter any ninjas from Konoha.
Finally, they returned safely to the Land of Whirlpool camp.
Because they are currently in a period of rest, Mei and the others decided to go with Kaito to visit Ao.
However, a few people didn't expect that Ao would have to work with a scroll of intelligence in his arms even during the ten minutes it took to re-bandage and change the dressings.
"Some information, if known a second earlier, could directly determine the life or death of a ninja on the front line."
The three of them rolled their eyes. Ao is still young, but he has become more and more rigid and serious since he took over the work of the Perception Unit.
In fact, Ao's job is more to assist Yagura in the personnel mobilization of the Perception Unit. If there is any important emergency information, it will definitely be delivered to Yagura as soon as possible. There will be no chance for him to check it here.
"Although the previous pursuit mission failed in the end, the achievement of killing the jonin will not be ignored. I have proposed to the jonin Yagura to temporarily promote you guys to chūnin. As for the official promotion, we have to wait until the village's appointment comes down."
"Ah, we're promoted chunins so soon?" Mei looked at her captain in surprise.
"Mei, are you okay? After all, it's been more than a year since you graduated. Zabuza and I have only been Genin for a few months."
Kaito said to Mei.
Judging from the promotion speed, in the original work, Shikamaru Nara lived during peacetime and was promoted to Chunin just over nine months after graduation.
In terms of age, Kakashi was promoted to Chunin at the age of 6 a few years ago.
I don’t know what Mei is so surprised about.
"In any case, the missions you will carry out in the future will be based on the standards of a Chunin team. As for the captain, I suggest that Kaito be the captain."
Ao ignored the two students' quarrels and gave his own suggestions.
Mei and Zabuza on the side curled their lips at the same time, but did not raise any objections. At present, both of them recognized Kaito in terms of strength and behavior.
"Then after you recover from your injury, Ao-sensei, will you still lead our team to carry out the mission?"
This is the issue that Kaito is more concerned about. Although he killed an Uchiha Jonin, there were too many factors of sneak attack and coincidence.
If there is still a senior ninja like Ao to lead the team in the future, it will undoubtedly greatly improve the safety of the team.
And since he had never told Ao about the proposal that Yagura had made before, he was worried that the other party might have said something to Ao, causing Ao to misunderstand.
Hearing the question raised by Kaito, Mei and Zabuza both looked at Ao lying on the hospital bed.
"Well, you are still my subordinates, but most of the missions from now on will be completed by the three of you."
Well, Ao put it more tactfully, but I guess I won’t be able to take this big guy as my bodyguard with me when I go out in the future.
As if noticing that several people looked a little depressed, Ao spoke to comfort them.
"You are still temporary Chunin now. I will often guide you in your ninjutsu training, and some important tasks in the future will still require you to carry out with me."
After Ao emphasized the temporary Chunin again, Kaito finally reacted. Although he was promoted to Chunin, it seemed that the system would not recognize the promotion without formal appointment.
There are no achievement prompts or system rewards or anything like that.
"Don't worry, Ao-sensei, we are not as fragile as you think."
Although Ao was pleased to see his students were confident, he still gave them a reminder.
"The situation on the front line has been a little strange recently. You should be more careful."
As a senior executive in the current camp, Ao obviously knows more about the overall battle situation.
Logically speaking, both Konoha and the Kirigakure Village are eager to have a head-on battle, but surprisingly, no one has taken the initiative to launch a large-scale advance.
The Kirigakure Village's intentions were understandable, after all, they had the advantage of location, so they wanted to hold back and lure Konohagakure into attacking. If Konohagakure crossed the sea to attack the Land of Whirlpool camp, they would undoubtedly be blocked by the Kirigakure Village at sea, causing heavy losses.
However, it was a bit strange that Konoha had not launched an attack yet. After all, the coastline of the Land of Fire was too long, making it difficult for Konoha to defend itself.
In the current small-scale collision, the average quality of Konoha ninjas is obviously higher than that of Kirigakure, but the number of casualties also is much higher than that of Kirigakure.
Besides, in terms of military strength alone, the Kirigakure Village has the advantage.
"Ao-sensei is worried that Konoha will make a big move soon?"
"That's right, Konoha can't just keep going like this. Besides, Iwagakure and Kumogakure are eyeing them covetously. They can't afford to delay any longer." Ao paused for a moment when he said this.
"This is also the consensus of the top leaders of Kirigakure at present. However, we are not sure how they will launch the attack. Therefore, whether you are on an outbound mission or in the camp, you must be vigilant."
"Yes" x3
After Kaito rebandaged Ao, Ao also put down the scroll in his hand. He learned about the three students' recent ninjutsu training and gave them some pointers.
The Land of Fire coastline, Konoha camp.
"Orochimaru-sama, this is a message from the Third Hokage-sama."
Nara Suzaku respectfully handed a scroll to Orochimaru.
Orochimaru, who was organizing ninjutsu information, did not stop his actions. Instead, he spoke casually to Nara Suzaku.
"Put it on the table first. Suzaku, you've been very busy lately taking care of the operation, so go back and rest early today."
"But, Orochimaru-sama."
"It doesn't matter. I guess the old guys can't sit still anymore. I'll take a look at it later."
"Yes, I will withdraw first.”
Then Nara Suzaku carefully placed the scroll in a more conspicuous place on the table and retreated respectfully.
After finishing the work at hand, Orochimaru picked up the scroll and opened it to read.
"Haha, the Kumogakure Village can't sit still anymore? Why is this boring war so attractive? Then let's end it as soon as possible."
Orochimaru quickly finished reading the scroll and a scornful smile appeared on his face.
Then Orochimaru walked out of his tent and waved to the ninja who was guarding nearby.
"Thank you for your hard work. Go and ask Yakushi Nono, the doctor from the Medical Unit, to come over for me."
The ninja immediately nodded excitedly and hurried towards the Medical Unit.
